I had tons of fun for awhile with the Awakening...then they just kept releasing too many expansions too quickly so I just got overwhelmed and never came back

it's an odd complaint, TOO many things TOO fast but alot of it was convoluted and felt half-baked

It's an excellent game for sure though; I think ending it after Malachai the Nightmare was the best idea.

I'll try out Fall of Oriath to see how they always planned for the story to play out, but yeah I burned out on the autismgrinder portion of the game. Being self-found player in PoE is impossible since the drop rates are abysmal shit. I was excited to see they made a mode for that and I thought MAYBE they actually tuned drop rates up but NOPE it's just putting your character name on some fucking pointless epeen spreadsheet.

it's better than Diablo2. between the map qualities and the craft currency you can get what you want with just enough efforts to make it rewarding. And unlike D3, you don't need perfect rolls to make your end game build work.

Just started playing a few weeks ago, currently doing a necromancer build, and I'm almost finished with merciless, having fun so far.

Can't even imagine doing merciless without minions seeing that when I accidentally get hit instead of my minion my health pool disappears in seconds.
