God I hated the fucking ending so much. It seemed to be leading somewhere good and I just kept waiting for the reveal and then BAM. "It was all a dream" levels of drivel.

They just needed to give a more precise rundown of what 'based on Morgan's memories' means. I don't mind the fact that it was a simulation, I find the lack of info unsatisfying.

They build up Morgan, Alex, Talos 1, and all those characters only to leave the true nature of every single one of them as unknown.

Even several of the characters being operators involved in the simulation leaves the player only to fruitlessly speculate about what the hell that actually implied.

Loved the game as a whole but that ending was pure butthurt rage.

He had a malfunctioning unit, and he had to follow protocol. If he had the mindset of controlling a ship with that power, there would be no reason to disobey his orders.

The only exposition that was given came from a presumed dead Spartan and an AI that is beyond her due date.

The way I look at it, the specifics aren't really important. You can believe whatever you want as far as variables are concerned. Obviously a Typhon made it to Earth somehow, whether it was from an escape pod, shuttle, or falling debris from blowing up the station is up to your imagination.

Or you can just pretend the post credit scene doesn't exist because it probably isn't getting a sequel.
