The main focus of the team was to carry out intended plans.
Orisa came about as a way to keep the momentum for Doomfist, as was the change to the Numbani payload.

The reason we are getting so many shields is exactly because of your point. They are trying to push Rein off his throne but the problem is you cant beat his shield. Stationary shields just do not compete at all then you have the health pool on top of that.

He carried a shield just like Reinhardt, but he could lob shots with it up, it was just a lot smaller than reins shield.
I think it would have occupied a different niche if balanced right

He would be a more specialized rein, more suited to protecting individuals and providing continuous fire, but would still be able to do his job in his absence.

So I've just finished season 4 and achieved a final SR of 1848. I know, mindblowing numbers, but hear me out. My question though is it is difficult to gauge if it is my actual skill level holding me back or the people I unfortunately find myself being matched with in competitive.

Now I am a humble fellow and am willing to admit when I am bad at a hero or have a bad game I'll throw my hands up and admit my guilt. This is mainly because my style of playing comp is wait for the other 5 to pick heroes and fill in the gaps around the 2/2/2 meta. HOWEVER this only works when only 1 gap needs filling, when 4 dps have been picked and nobody else is willing to switch this is where I feel I am not the problem. Ergo, shouldn't be punished for selfish genji/hanzo mains. (Yes, I highlight those two because those heroes attract that type of person. The same way a piece of shit attracts flies.)
You see. It seems to me that alot of people fail to deduce that Overwatch is a team based arena shooter. Keyword 'team' so when you 'Have to play genji' because you have 78/80 hours played with him and do not know how to play any other hero, then this isn't team based when the team a still needs another tank and another healer. So are people really that naive that they cannot try to learn 2 heroes from each category?! It makes their lives easier in comp because they can adapt and play as a team than make the other members of the team suffer and a loss of SR for everyone involved.

Again, because I pick to fit the comp I may not be amazing at the hero I pick but pick the hero to aid the comp in general, but at least I try, and surely this should count for something? Or at least I need to find a way to counter this like finding a regular group to play in with the same ideals.

Both of his arms are augmented. Components in the arms act as the builders for the abilities. I don't want to spoil too much, but they also assist in his passive ability.
Brio is not a factual leak I'm afraid. The idea of a hero that walls off areas was thrown about, but would just make Mei's wall redundant.

He is currently 'The Big Bad' in the Overwatch universe, so he has to live up to that reputation.
