Yes. They spent a lot of time fine tuning a lot of these models so that when the light hits them the shadows are casted in a specific direction so as to appear more 2d. If you drag them out into SFM and therefor a lighting system designed around shadows being 3d, everything looks like shit.

Well that's Europe, it's sorta fragmented. Finland, Czech and Russia have strong scenes with plenty of online presence. UK is free and the connection is a toss-up (fucking TalkTalk). Germany and Austria have an online community. France and Spain, while active and decent, are plagued with bad internet. In general joining EU discord will help since top players of all of the above sans Russia hang out there and there's plenty of lower skill people as well.

After laying down houses and have minions on screen, you're suppose to use the minions+house throw as cover to get in on the opponent. You also have good pokes to bridge that intermedium.

Go through combo mode and see which characters you enjoy the moves of. In any fighting game, but GG especially, there are some characters who have buttons that I absolutely cannot stand playing. You might also find a character with decent buttons but then you get to the combos and you're just like what the fuck so you drop the character.

Watch others play on keeponrock.in and see what good players do. You may or may not like that playstyle. A combination of looks/character design and playstyle is how you should select.

I play against the same people online regularly that body me 90 times in a row over several days. If they were annoyed, they wouldn't bother wasting their time with me.

Eventually a few things click, and now I can win like 1 every 10-15 games, and improving bit by bit.

Play Chipp. He is the fastest most offensive character and has practically every offensive tool you could want in a character. Good normals, DP, rekkas, fastest speed, triple jump, wall clings, projectiles, teleports, very good mixups, etc. His flaws are similar to Taokaka's: he takes a shit ton of damage when he gets hit.

PC is as active as PS4. It's a pretty hard game to get good at, but I never played fighting games before picking up Xrd and managed to get into it just fine. The tutorial/mission modes really teach you a lot if you go through them all and make the effort to apply what it teaches you, though you will be losing a lot regardless.

The top players on PC in America are about the same/ever so slightly less strong than their console counterparts. There's a bunch of footage out of American steam players going to Japan and playing in mikado tournaments. They mostly get killed but end up putting up a good fight, one Raven player even ended up taking a round or two off of Machabo.

All in all you have about the same range of skill for American players (from bad to can almost fight Japanese players tier) as on console. There are less people playing it on PC however.

It's in a really weird place. I hope it does as well as it can but this is a rough time of year. I think it might grab some people who held off of Rev for its absurd PC release price which is more palatable now with Rev 2. And the people that own Rev already, if you still play then buying Rev 2 shouldn't have a shadow of a doubt for the price.

We'll see, I think we're starting to hit a critical mass of SFV getting stale so there's excitement for all the other games coming out that would not have gotten this exposure a year ago.

I-no has a horrible match up against ky except on his knockdown. Sin is one of the few characters who can beat vcl yrc okizeme via backdash. I-no is aggressively about resets, hard reads and taking huge dangerous risks to get her damage going. Ky and Sin have much better matchups against I-no than Elphelt. You definitely won't find any love in her, plus I-no has a much higher execution barrier ahead of you.
