The games I always look forward to the most are the surprises. Games we didn't ask for but are happy with anyway. E3 2010 was the best for me because of games like Kid Icarus Uprising and Donkey Kong Country Returns, games that NO ONE could have predicted. Now, E3 2015 was also full of shit we didn't ask for, but fuck that entire conference.

I'm expecting something that's about on par with the Switch Presentation. One big surprise, an info dump on a game we all saw coming, and the rest being a mixed bag.

I don't really expect much, ever since they announced it was mostly 2017 Switch games. I definitely expect more info on BotW DLC, Splatoon, FE Warriors, Skyrim, MonHun, Odyssey, Xenoblade, Virtual Console, and FE 2018

I'm a bit bummed there won't be more 2018 announcements here. 2017 already looks strong enough, whereas 2018 currently has Fire Emblem, and maybe No More Heroes and SMT. The Switch is knocking it out of the park so far but they need to keep the momentum up

I'd be really interested to see them do something like that. Namco already makes the games so get the Tekken Tag team to do it and make it a bit more like a traditional fighting game, but still with the platforming elements. I love Smash but the formula could definitely use a refresh, especially from someone who knows how to make good fighting games.

I expect it to be pretty close if not day and date. Most MonHun games take 5-6 months to get over here, and the Switch version is coming out 5 months after the 3DS version, so the localization should be done.

I have no real expectations of Nintendo. Feels mostly like disappointment to expect anything from them lately, and instead just be pleasantly surprised the rare times they do something good.

Speaking of expectations, NIntendo UK has a survey for their members going about and a question for which characters of theirs you like has Samus selectable but when it comes to game series, Metroid isn't listed while Mario has 2D and 3D platformers as different options.

I do hope for a 2D Metroid for 3DS and a 3D Metroid for Switch though, no dumb story crap like Other M, just focus on gameplay and exploration.

So Super Mario Run was a fun game, but it wasn't worth the $10 price point because of a lack of content. It showed innovation in the mobile game space by making it a skill-based game that only required one button, while also having social aspects built in using the Nintendo Network. The only thing that was really wrong with the game was the price point- $2.99 would have been a better point for the game to land at.

Fire Emblem Heroes is a "lite" version of Fire Emblem, but it still has a lot of the depth of the original game, a wealth of content with more being added just about every other week, and compelling reasons to continue playing the game. The Gacha mechanics are pretty restrictive if you don't get lucky, but aside from the top-end PVP stuff, every mission in the game can be cleared using 3 and 4 star units. The odds of getting a 5-star unit are also significantly higher than every other game that uses a Gacha mechanic, AND, Nintendo has been extremely generous with the amount of free orbs in the game- I haven't spent a dime and I have a fully kitted 5-star army that does very well.

Miitomo was a social app, not necessarily a game. It was cute, the generated voice stuff is fantastic (especially since no one played tomodachi life) and the idea of miiphotos was FANTASTIC.

Pokemon Go, Magikarp Jump, and Pokemon Duel were games that used a Nintendo License but weren't actually published nor created by Nintendo. With that said, they have a lot more originality than most other "monster collecting" mobile ripoff games.

Honestly I'm excited about the Zelda and Animal Crossing mobile games. As much as I loved President Iwata, the idea of expanding Nintendo games to mobile devices is a genius move. Animal Crossing is a perfect fit for the mobile phone, and no one can disagree that.

Anyone excited for Lost Sphear?
I am Setsuna may have been disappointing in the end. But I always felt like it was really close to be being really good. It was just lacking.

The environments already look more varied. And if the game has a better difficulty curve I feel like it might end up great.
I wanted them to try another game ever since I first played I am Setsuna.

I am Setsuna was still a game that hooked me, and kept me playing all the way through the end. Even if I kept wanting more. So if this next game of theirs, does offer more. It could end up pretty great. Hopefully they learned from I am Setsuna.

The Switch really is shaping up to succeed the Vita.
