I have to agree that Las Venturas was a bit boring, compared to the other cities. The only great part of the city was The Strip.
>>
>>378482609
Damn, that sucks. I was a member during the golden years of RS2.

Runescape may not have had the best core gameplay, but damn if the variety wasn't there. I don't know why games are so dead set on being exclusively combat-based, and then not even having even remotely good combat. Give me a huge world, and some shit to do in it. It doesn't have to be deep or complex, just make it fun and varied. No game has ever made me feel so giddy for getting a piece of equipment dropped. God Wars and Barrows were my shit, and the amount of ingenuity from the fanbase are how to get there and accomplish the task was fantastic.

Looking at you, Breath of No Man's Wild.

Dude I have no idea, but googling it gave me this.
>Generally the spelling with x is the Old Spanish (castellano antiguo) spelling. In the Old Spanish you'd have for example Don Quixote. This changed with establishment of The Real Academia Española, which published in 1754 published new edition of "Ortografia de la lengua castellana", which pretty much defined modern spelling. One of the changes was that the /x/ sound would be spelled with j instead of x, while x would only represent /ks/ sound.
>However, México, being a proper name is exception from the rule. In fact México is the only spelling appearing in the official dictionary of Real Academia Española. Spelling Méjico is still sometimes used in Spain, but it's never used elsewhere in Spanish speaking countries.
So Mexicans are fucking stupid, basically, and it's pronounced with H. It should be the same with Texas (Tehas) but that doesn't matter since it's American territory. How do you guys say it?

well don't forget you were driving slower than you probably think you were really going (going approximately 60 mph, or near max speed, in-game is probably like 45 or so proper mph). They did things like adding blur as well to give the illusion of going fast when you reach max speed.

GTA V does this as well. If you install driving mods that allow you to drive at the proper speeds, you will loop around the map MUCH quicker.

RS2 was the greatest thing in the world. The game died totally in 2013 when they added Evolution of Combat and then pets, then cosmetics, then other outlandish cliche shit that means nothing.
It was much better as a low fantasy parody of fairytale England. This was the key to its success in terms of likeability. It never took itself too seriously, and you weren't a goddamn chosen one hero like every other game in the world.
The other appeal died in 2007.
I remember when a Godsword used to mean something. You respected a man with a whip. You didn't fuck with a bastard brandishing dragon claws and in ghostly robes.
They also fucked up the graphics on top of it all. Now everything looks like it's trying to be real. It was better when it was archetypal, the trees were like fantasy trees drawn by a child who had a conception from a set of trees. The houses were the same way, all the buildings had that non-particular but sort of specific Old English feel.
It's just a high fantasy piece of cringe tier shit that take's itself way too seriously and puts the player on a fucking pedestal.

Did anyone else think that San Andreas was more tense compared to Vice City? Vice City was super comfy but when I play San Andreas I feel like I could get shot any second
>>
>>378481541

Gotta agree, San Andreas still has one of the most enjoyable maps I've ever experienced in a game. I really enjoyed every inch of the map, from the cities, to the badlands, to the desert, it was large enough to feel big, but not overly large to where it felt it was padded out with too much empty space. Some may disagree, but I felt like the singleplayer also utilized the map very well with each unique area of the map playing a role in the game's progression.

>>378482362

It is smaller than it seems, but when playing it gives off the impression of being large. I like V's map, but everything north of Los Santos feels like it's just big for the sake of being big, except for Shady Sands you don't really utilize much of the area north of Los Santos at all, I think the game could have done with less mountains and a more substantial sized town or city that played a larger role in the story.

I've pretty much always played through it on PC, the only real issue is that a high framerate will cause issues with the physics that aren't necessarily noticeable until you get to the driving school, just find a way to cap your fps at 60. PC is also missing some features from the PS2 version for some reason, but this mod should fix that http://gtaforums.com/topic/749193-ps2-features-to-pc-index/

Unlocked frame rate is good, but like I mentioned if it gets too high it fucks with the physics.

That's honestly what's so impressive about it. I'm a massive plane autist and even though the map is tiny and can be flown across in nearly no time, it still doesn't feel small. It's a tiny, tiny map but it somehow manages to feel absolutely massive. Driving from one city to another - or even flying - really does feel like you're travelling across an entire state, even if it's like 2 minutes from wheels up to parking.

I mean it's not that tiny, if you want to talk tiny look at Vice City.

This is just an autistic nitpick, but it would have been really cool if the ocean waterfalled into the great canyon where they meet up in northern Akkala. Also, there should have been more towns. The Gerudo Highlands and Hebra were both very empty, boring regions that had a lot of potential. The east side of the map is pure, dense adventure though.

It was a bit of a flawed MMO, but I still loved the world design for it, large in size, lots of little details, lots of starting cities, 3 continents, numerous dungeons and quests scattered around the map.

They used some good tricks, like making the environment a bit bigger compared to the player model, making vehicles relatively slow (I think the fastest car can only hit ~120mph) while making them feel fast with a some blur and shaking, small draw distance/fog, and on ground you can't really drive that far in a straight line.

Hebra should have been called Tabantha with Hebra just being the mountain. Much better name.

You can also tell they developed the map east to west. Although the end result is remarkably close to the VGX teaser way back.

French people actually lived in Arkansas, so when it was bought they continued to call it that. No one lived in Kansas prior to it becoming a territory.

I love the hell out of the paper map of this. As an actual game map I think it's a little repetitive, but probably my favorite piece of physical gaming paraphernalia.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
