Doesn't sound too bad to me desu. Nothing wrong with automated fairies, there's no practical difference between telling a pet to cast something and casting it yourself. Divine Seal being cross-class means there's no need for Fey Illumination. Constant Regen/Haste Aura means there's no need for Whispering Dawn or Fey Wind, and using the tether skill will be the same as spamming an Embrace macro.

They actually did bother to justify that within the lore. Eorzea's higher ambient aether levels make the magic there obscenely powerful and the Garleans aren't equipped to deal with it properly. The most they could do was plate their magitek in gold, which dampens the effects of magic.

Scholar requires more skill to play optimally because it has more options. It has a shitton of utility compared to the other healers at the price of being able to manage cooldowns and DOTs plus the pet effectively

Its base healing is weaker, but with well timed mitigation from shield casts it honestly winds up being more useful than just keeping HP bars full, since mitigation also gives you more uptime for dpsing.

IMO it's the most fun and useful healer to play, and I say this having used all three healer jobs at 60.

After you defeat your first primal, you do some running around for a bit and then all then all the Grand Companies invite you to join them. You choose one of them and you start getting tickets from FATEs and other tasks that let you buy certain stiff from their quarter master. It's not a "system", it's just Critical Hits 2.0. They're adding it because they don't want even an ounce of mechanical creativity in their gear stats.

It would be an interesting thing to add to the game if they designed the stat curve properly so that you wanted to actually have a particular mix of stats, but this is FFXIV, so one or the other will be the king, and the other will be avoided.

That scenario is almost never a DPS issue.
It's either a tank problem, a heal problem, or both.

Never do big pulls because the DPS asks you to. Only do them if you're confident in your gear and ability management, or if the healer tells you they can handle it.

Dunno. It's not a big deal though, there's not that much. Flames gear is mostly black/gold and gladiator themed, Maelstrom gear is red/silver and pirate/naval themed, Adders gear is yellow/green and forest/elf themed.

You can switch GCs after you reach a certain rank, with a 2 week cooldown or something, so you can always change if you don't like the one you pick.

Aether has the serious cancer of Balmung upon it, but the DF seems better in general. DF on Primal in my experience has been composed of more people that are prone to wasting fuck tons of time. Aether will have lower lows, when you run across some insanely annoying piece of shit (or more likely multiple pieces of shit so you can't kick) that will make it clear quitting and taking the 30 minute penalty is the better solution. But Primal will more often cause you to just take 40-60 minute dungeon runs.

But when it comes to server culture/community, I guess I'd recommend Ultros or Cactuar for a new person. Ultros has ZR, which is fine, if you wanna play with people you talk to in these threads. Cactuar is just my personal experience, we tend to be nice to new players.

Outside of that, I feel most servers are fine, including Byrnhildr. Just avoid Balmung unless you want to ERP.
