It's a great game and I don't judge you for it being your favorite. For me it's high enough on the list that it can be your favorite and I could understand.

It's a pretty solid 4/5 in a vacuum. 5/5 only if you're playing it before 2007 or because of it's impact on the industry. At the end of the day if you're playing it right now, doing any of the (100% action-focused) side content should be making you want to slit your wrists because the gameplay is just dated enough (and that's mainly because of the godawful fov) to make you feel shit if action is the whole focus of the game.

Re4 is probably the closest thing to a "perfect game" that immediately comes to mind.

The fact that I can't see around me naturally, I can't check around me without taking a ton of time and I can't hear what direction the enemies are coming from even with headphones really ticked me off. The only way to not get hit by random bullshit in tight spaces was to know the spawns from before.
In addition to that the game was just easy enough to know that I'll beat any encounter just as long as bullshit like that doesn't happen and there we go. Ada's campaign in particular felt like an awful chore because it was designed to just be an extended combat encounter, but I guess it was just a bonus. On the other hand it illustrates the point very well. Chapter 5 was complete shit in my opinion as well, except the few segments inside the base with those unkillable enemies. I'd still rather play RE5 than that.

Should I play it for Wii or GC?
