only way to do dd2 is a prequel with grigori when he was still human and even that would be tenuous at best. if you wanted to make one after the cycle was broken you would have to asspull so much shit, it would effectively invalidate the whole game.

They could use some of that stuff that never made it into the final game. Barroch wasn't fucked over by Grigori dying so like, they could easily do something with another Dragon turning some poor sap into an Arisen, maybe spice it up and have that fight be the mid point of the game instead of the 80% mark.
The story in DD is just an excuse to fight more shit anyway, so as long as they touch up what needs it from DD1 and give us cool new vocations and more mobs and more big monsters to fight, who gives a fuck

Trying to fix it. I'm not sure if they're still working on it, but I know they have put out multiple several GB patches to try and fix all of the broken stuff.
