Vinnie Gognitti as comic relief villain is pretty good in the first and second game.

Max Payne 1 & 2 were simply AMAZING. True masterpieces.
The third one was a shitty console game that had nothing in common with the previous ones other than its name.

What sub is /r/ing?
Haven't seen it before

Pretty much.
Sad but true.

>had nothing in common with the previous ones other than its name.
mostly true
but it was still a great game
Daily reminder that this is what we would have gotten if remedy and sam lake had done max payne 3

It still hurts

I've played all 3 of them recently for the first time and enjoyed them all, why do people hate 3?
>>378460671
Because it's the most different, isn't a Remedy game, and hating the latest/most popular entry of a series is /v/core
>>378460671
because it's different
i think it's way better than 1
i'm on the fence about 2
>>378460137
I don't think 3 was that bad but it definitely fell short of 1 and 2. rockstar was smoking crack up their ass to come up with that fucktarded story and thinking cover shooting was at all necessary in a fucking max payne game
>>378461017
I do prefer the frenetic pace of the first game. It felt almost like an arena shooter at times.

Not done by Remedy...
Not done by Rockstar Vienna...
No real atmosphere...
Consolized...
The first two dragged you perfectly inside a dark and obscure NYC atmosphere... it felt like you were in a movie. The music was perfect too.
The last one is clearly a casual game with no real appeal. You play it, and just forget it after. It doesn't leave a big mark in your head.

This is from my OC folder, but it's alright I'll give you a permission to make a copy.

3 covers that feel in multiplayer though
probably the best example of 3rd person deathmatches i've ever played
>>378461409
It's a shame that Rockstar didn't do a damn thing about all the cheating and just let the multiplayer die. I had a fucking blast playing it, and it was definitely one of the best third person multiplayer modes I've ever played.

I thought 3's gunplay was fun but that was pretty much it. The atmosphere, story, characters, all of it was gutted compared to 1 and 2. Who the fuck remembers anyone from 3 other than Max himself? Even Max is unbearable at times. Yeah he's cynical in the original games, but he was also self-aware and had a sense of humor. None of that was in 3. Max Payne stories were always highly personal and emotional. 3 was so lifeless and empty in comparison.
The gameplay was nice but then again it was hard to enjoy with so many cutscenes with that shitty editing that gave me a headache. So many conflicting choices packed into 1 game is kind of amazing.

SUCH A LUST FOR REVENGE!
