Do developers need protection if you beat their game and get a refund?

no.

In a perfect world games would just have demos to show you how the game played and give you an approximate amount of hours you'll sink into the game on average instead of this God awful refund system.
>>
that is a very short game
>>
>Do developers need protection?
I know one, how about make games that not <2h long?
>>
In a perfect world, games would be free to all and you'd leave a tip you think it deserved after finishing it
>>
they can just make longer game

No

Only in proper context, most shmups are relatively short so it's possible to beat in less than 2 hours. If it is only a passable game however you have the right to refund it if you don't think it is good enough to be replayed, unlike good shmups are made to be replayed and have various modes to give more content to the player.

>being so poor you refund 2 bucks
>>
only if they told you it was an hour and you bought it anyway
>>
>>378445792
>making a short game with no replayability

>>378446079
asking 2 bucks for a short game with no replayability seems fair
>>
>>378446079
>playing a short game with no replayability
>>
Nope. Belongs on Newgrounds as a free game if it's shorter than two hours.

Fuck off commie.

>Game has 30 minutes of content
>Stretch it out to 30 hours of empty padding to try and counter the quick play refunds, only serving to worsen the game
>Still gets refunded after 90 minutes for being a boring piece of shit
>>
>>378446160
Might as well be begging on the street corner.
>>
>>378448102
That's what you recommend?
>>
>Game has 30 min of content
>Initial unskippable 2h cutscene
>>
Yes. Yhe only reason you should be able to return a game is performance problems/bugs.
>>
>>378449910
>10 minutes in you realize what they're doing and refund immediately.
>>
>exiting the game doesn't close the process fully
>can't refund it because it accumulates bunk playtime hours
the worst
>>
Having the game not be total shit is the protection.
