personally I have a glass table underneath my television so the table surface heats up when my PS3 is on. to fix this I just put my PS3 ontop of a laptop cooling mat. when the ps3 turns on, the 5v power from the USB port powers on the the cooling mat which helps keep it cool.

It does actually. Persona has a lot of loading screens so the extra seconds shaved off each one saves you a lot of time overall. Improved frame pacing also makes the game feel smoother. And I don't have to tell you that 1080p makes text a lot sharper when this is a text heavy game.

If your PS3 is really old, you should consider changing the thermal paste inside. The one Sony uses is cheap ass quality and most likely applied very sloppily. Many fat PS3s have died just because the thermal paste dried up on the RSX and games overheat the chip to the point it melts the solder.

Something that I've always loved about Sony is that they stick with their consoles for the long run. The PS1 and PS2 lasted for like 13 years or something before getting officially discontinued. PS3 a little less but it's still over a decade.

Nintendo has been shaky with their support. The Wii U feels like it didn't last all that long at all.

Microsoft seems like they back their systems too, but not as much as Sony.

I might pick one up. I still have a PS3 controller I bought from when I borrowed my cousin's. A shame I only had it for a few months. I even bought some digital games for it too (Tokyo Jungle, Katamari Damacy, Breath of Fire 4, Mega Man X4).
