I remember borrowing Kingdom Hearts 2 and hating Roxas so much I never made it out of the intro. Somehow I feel like I wasn't going to enjoy the rest of the game either.

Disney Channel played a 20 second E3 interview every day of my life for a year before the 30 second commercial started running. 13 year old me was hype as shit for this game and it delivered.

I saw the commercial like the other anons, but on the subject of Kingdom Hearts in general, I think it has the best opening videos of any series in existence. Fuck I could watch them all day, along with the secret ending like Deep Dive and the Birth by Sleep teaser.

My problem with 2 is that it turned KH from being a game that feels like a Disney movie with FF character, to being generic shonen-shit with special OCs Organization 13 and making the plot especially for no reason.
It also didn't ahve nearly as good worlds as 1, exploration was really cut down. Combat was also extremely dumbed down to make it appear more "stylish" and to shoehorn in the Press Traingle to Win system.

I got it on Christmas morning and the opening exceeded my already towering expectations. By the end of the game I'm pretty sure I cried a little because the ride was over and I wanted more.

Chain of memories was a worthy follow-up.
