When did you realize that Harada is a hack fraud?

Fact is that the series lost all sense of identity and charm right when Tekken 6 hit. An installment so bad and so ugly even Bamco pretends it never happened. While everyone else was innovating and improving their fighting games, Harada was stuck resorting to the shittiest of character designs such as Lars and Alisa as lead characters with the juggling gameplay turned up to the extreme. Who thought this was fun? Autistic gooks at the arcades maybe, but that's about it. And speaking of autistic gooks, surely they're the only ones that enjoyed the absolute mess that was TTT2.

Now Tekken 7 is upon us and guess what, all they did was add a few comeback gimmicks while recycling everything else. And the game is already old and outdated when it hits consoles. While other fighting game devs treat their home users with respect by atleast not delaying the console version 2 and a half fucking years after arcade release, Harada and Co shamelessly advertised the game on consoles for years while pretending it was COMING SOON.

And that's not even all. Harada always used FREE D ER CEE I PROMISE GAIJIN as excuse for milking the gook arcades dry but even that isn't true anymore. You won't even get the full game unless you pre-order with the Season Pass. Get that. We've waited 2 and a half years for this, and Harada is taking a giant shit on us by basically saying we haven't waited enough and we must pay more to experience the full game. And shills that are hitting /v/ hard shilling this recycled gook bait garbage will pretend this isn't so. Don't trust them. Tekken 7 is cancer. It serves only to fill Harada's and Bamco's pockets. There is no integrity, no sense of responsibility or even artistic talent. It all feels so artificial and forced now, even the threads shilling the game are predictable and play out in a very typical manner.

Seems like you do have more options than TT2 in everything but hair styles, though that is partly cause they are split in multiple groups like a whole one for hair accessories. You have more items in general though, and more seem to be separate pieces like the bikini. He also doesn't show how you can change the blocks of colour options to the slider like in TT2.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.

I will freely admit to being trash in fighting games, but watching the SF4 series was always a blast(untill the very end where Elena time out was the metagame)

But SFV is fucking BORING. Even so called hype moments ars shit. And excellent adventures became stale as fuck. I'm honestly sort of upset because I always loved SF. It's sad to see what it became.

Meanwhile I can watch hours upon hours of TK7 footage and not get bored. TK has always been my favourite FG franchise alongside of SF. So it's good to see TK at least stays true to their roots and fans.

At least I can play a version of Akuma that actually looks and plays like Akuma should. And it's in a TK game for crying out loud. That's kinda sad. That Harada and his team honor the character more than the devs who own the character.

This is what SF5 was supposed to be. The game was going to be a throwback to oldschool, but nowhere near as simple as it became.

They definitely tried to cater to esports. The pro tour, and simplistic gameplay was made to draw the esports kids in and get them to play because it was easier. Sony likely gave them funding, and a deadline for the pro tour to start. What we see is the result of cutting corners to get a simple product out.

Gameplay and meta wise, it's the same game as T5-T6-TTT2. Even epy framedata is mostly unchanged from TTT2. Just compare this:

When Bound came in T6, it changed things up by stepping even further away from dash 1 combos but giving everyone a combo extender.

With Sidewinders in T7, they feel like Bound. I'll give you the fact it doesn't work on walls, but wall damage was changed to account for that. Same combos don't work but the mechanics of the combos are the same: Launcher, short combo, SW! ender. Opening someone up with a launcher at the start of a round in T7 looks just how it did in T6

I'd agree with that comment, but to compare it to that, it's like saying SFV had some variation of FADC for the whole cast. A core mechanic that was what made that game only being slightly changed for the next but keeping the same fundamental idea. SFV redid a ton of shit (and not for the better).

I'm a SFV player and I just wish Capcom would fucking do something for defensive options and make throw loops less strong, especially since even if you react to a walk-up or dash-up ploy online properly, the latency will make sure you eat damage unless you used your lightest punish when a medium lead could have worked.

Otherwise, I'm glad that execution in general was made easier. Lowers the skill floor and gets new players interested without sacrificing core fundamentals that still need to be mastered in order to progress.
