UMVC3 is what I'd consider "barely tolerable," however it is missing a lot of characters who should be in the game. It's the only MVC game that doesn't have any version of Mega Man, which is ass. The Marvel side has a lot of characters who are only there to promote new movies and is deliberately light on X-men.

If you want a good MVC game just play MVC2. It's not perfect and the balance is broken, but as a party game it's still lots of fun and has plenty of characters.

Down down is way more awkward than DP, trying to learn down down full moon v akiha pit loops in melty right now which has a down down motion and it's a nightmare. Also, if there's licensing problems with X-men then the easiest way to sort them out is to release them as separate dlc, then there's no confusing negotiations between all the parties over how much they're worth to the game, and instead the split profit from the dlc.

Pretty sure you guys already know this but the only reason Marvel is putting in movie characters is because ever since they started making bank off of their movies they've been super particular of what characters they license out.
