It has serious flaws, but they aren't any worse than literally any SF game before it, whether IV with 1f links, focus shenanigans and revenge meter, or 3S before that with its dogshit balance, or ST before that and having your anus turned inside out by Izuna Drop or Sagat. They didn't give us a fair shot at all. They expected Darkstalkers HD to pull the same numbers as SF2 HD and MvC2. Before Darkstalkers HD came out they released those two games, JoJo's, and Third Strike HD as well.

They made their fighting scene too crowded, and everyone was sick of buying collections and ports of their older titles. Also, Darkstalkers 3 has been ported over 10 times now in the span of it's lifetime, and they even released Darkstalkers 1 and 3's PS1 versions on PSN BEFORE they released Resurrection. The PSN versions of those games are just ports of the PS1 games, with missing frames, slow down, and no online.

This argument that fans didn't put up enough for Capcom is absolute bullshit, the odds were never in anyone's who was invested in Darkstalkers favor to begin with, Capcom killed it before it could even begin.

As someone who likes SFV, the legitimate issues are lack of defensive options and throw loops. Easier execution is a good thing for several reasons and it's funny to see certain pro players assblasted that they can't win just by being the best at execution anymore, the skill floor was lowered with a focus being kept on the other fundamental aspects of the game.
