Generally hardest for shooters, hardest or second hardest for action games, normal or one difficulty above it for strategy or genres I'm not as familiar with.

Only acceptable case of playing games on anything else than hard is if its a foreign genre to you or hard alters the game in a retarded way (like not being able to regen health outside fights, fuck Witcher 3)

If I care about the story and world etc or is a strategy game then normal
If it's just about the gameplay like shooters, action, and platformers, then hard

>age 18-24: hard
>age 25-26+: medium
there's just not enough time to find out for myself if hard mode is bullshit or not.

Hard, because it's a fucking videogame and losing is of no consequence. If I can plow through the game without dying or losing many times, I feel like I haven't been pushed to try new tactics.
