I tried out the single player demo portion of this game and it was a lot of fun, pretty sad I never got to run around the online world shouting JP ONLY JP ONLY though...

It's in Japanese, but from what I could tell the introduction is fairly standard DQ fair. You have a twin brother/sister depending on which gender you choose. Starts with some kind of celebration in your town, then you're sent off on a little quest to a cave.
