Played it some yesterday. It's just Xrd, not much different from Revelator, but it's still enjoyable. I'm having issues finding player rooms that aren't Japanese, but fortunately the French world lobby has been somewhat active.

Still playing Venom since Baiken or Answer aren't for me. I like his new 2H but the new top/back spin for carcass raid and stinger aim is going to take some getting used to.

How in the fuck do I deal with johnny? Most of the time i can only hut out if reads but u dont know what is punishable ir not.

I have been pkaying against this jounny player for months now i could never take even a round after him because it feels like dude has no unsafe stuff besides his dash.

The new Ky forward heavy slash is is amazing - less abusable on enemy wakeup, but a lot faster and more fun.

Jam is surprisingly fun to play and actually allow a lot of style into your gameplay. Each Jam is unique like there's Teresa who just charge standard Gekirin, but there's also Lox who like MAX Kenryokakku there's also interesting Jam who actually prefer charging Ryuujin and do pretty well with it.

Man bedman is super fun. Being able to contest people full screen with 2/3H is super satisfying. Hell his space control feels really good compared to Dizzy.

But combos are kinda easy in GG for a lot of characters. Just find some simple bnbs which end in knockdown and you're good.

The trickier combos can take time getting used to, but all of the characters revolve around an A>B>C>D combo.

I've heard that the training mode combos aren't very applicable in gameplay and maybe thats my issue, I've been grinding away at combo mode and there's no way I could apply some of these executions to real matches

I tried to give it another chance, but I really just can't stand the way this game handles knockdown.
I tried Sign, tried Revelator, and now Rev 2, but the setplay focus just ruins the game for me. It's a real shame, I like a fair bit of the cast, at least in terms of aesthetics. (Leo, Axl-Low, Jack-O, Ky, etc.)
I'm just gonna stick to BlazBlue, I think.
Ironically, my oki is probably the worst part of my gameplay, so you'd think I'd love how simplified it is in GG.

Kinda sorta.
The exact combos they make you do sometimes have more difficult moves to use together for no reason except to make it harder.
But a lot of the stuff they teach is critical to how you get the big damage.
Like May's final trial which is her command grab wallbounce into air ensenga finisher is basically her BnB corner combo.
Jam's double shinshou juggle into c.S>2H>Hochifu punches is a basic juggle you can get off of a gekirin confirm.
Essentially they teach you inoptimal ways to get the best damage, and optimizing them you just have to figure out or watch some match footage.

Go on this dude's channel and look up whoever you're trying to learn to see them played at the competitive level.
As for execution? No cure for that except time. At first I felt overwhelmed but now the execution isn't too hard for me. Just keeping my nerves in a match and not screwing it up.

I tried that but he can cancel into his sword command attack(forgot the name). Also his reach is fucking huge and even as axl i cant reaally get to him unless he completely wiffs a command moves.
