I found the Brotherhood's portrayal in New Vegas exactly as it should be. I'm so fucking sick of them being at the center of the plot of almost every Fallout game. They're way too overplayed, especially now thanks to Bethesda. The NCR would need major restructuring to be able to get a force strong enough to even put a dent in the Securitron army. You have to realize that the NCR as a whole covers a shitload of territory, which means that they also need a shitload of soldiers just to defend it. To be able to wage a full-scale war in Vegas would mean that they need major restructuring, and their government is too corrupt to bother.

Meanwhile, the Legion falls apart shortly after Caesar dies. Nobody has the same amount of leadership prowess that he does, and that's all that held the Legion together.
