I got the game when it was free on Humble Bundle, can I only play RS1 maps or can I also play Red Orchestra 2 maps?
Everything is included.
>>378338365
alright, so I shouldnt buy RO2. just play this one and I'll get the same experience, right?
>>378338520
Yeah.
>>378338879
thanks matewanna play with me?
>>378337808
when was this free?
>>378339997
Over the weekend on humblebundle store
>>378339052
Depends, are you an ausfag?
>>378339052
Not him but I'm free all day tomorrow if you can play then.Steam name: Eneregor
>>378339997
It isn't free now but you can still find it pretty cheap (like $1) in g2g and other
>>378341082
yeah, only grabbing stuff when its free, otherwise i just pirate it.
>>378341429
lol
>>378341429
>Squad shillfag angry his game is hot trash
>>378341438
you can't play it multiplayer cracked
BUY MY GAME IT DOESN'T SUCK I PROMISE
>>378341659
i have a potato computer, so i have no chance playing it anyway.
>>378342414
based squadposter! It's legitimately a fanstastic game
>>378340994
no,spicfag
>>378341008
I'll see mate, I haveworktommorrow
>>378342602
desu its kinda trash, played during a free weekend awhile back. Had some fun initially but the Squad leaders were really kinda just role players who weren't very good, that ontop of the jenky animation system I was disappointed enough to avoid buying it. Hope someday it gets finished though and wont be as bad
>>378342968spicfag here too: fycj
>>378343513
Holy shit this. The game is OK, but what most SQUAD fanboys don't realize is the awful animations, the awful optimizations, the garbage controls, and the hideous graphics. It ends up being a waste of time. Also the fact that if you have an AMD card or CPU its basically "Lol shoulda got intel" Nobody wants to play that
>>378343513
It runs better now than the last free weekend, and playing during a free weekend isn't a good idea anyways since the game doesn't play well if theres a mass influx of people that don't know what theyre doing. Ive only encountered one or two rp leaders, and they can be shit but I also make fun of them so I don't mind it 2bh. Also artillery is implemented now and its fun as fuck
Played 50+ hours of RS2 since January, hyped for release. RS GOTY goes free, decide to go through the trouble of installing PB and 12GB download.
>people don't play objectives at all
>just rush and die non stop
>voip spammed constantly by eastern europeans
>get killed by allies more often than by enemies
>SL don't place markers, just rush and die
>TL doesn't call artillery ever, why pick class?
>finally pick TL, have to place own mark
>drop arty way behind flag
>bunch of allies run into it despite warnings
>get server kicked because nobody "np"
>all servers are struggling because of unusual stress on this usually dead game, latencies in the 150+ everywhere
Holyshit what a painful couple of days...
Amazing how drastically the average IQ flops once something gets free to play. I haven't witnessed so much stupidity in a game other than World of Tanks which is pretty much only F2P game I play.
>>378344104
Saw someone literally type "Wow this is better than battlefield1." It's truly a brave new world
>>378344104
It gets better after a week or two, it's just the free weekend makes it become a shit
I had some awesome games like a week ago before this free week started
It still fun to trash talk the newfags when they fuck up lmaoo
>>378344104
Play on Bloodbath if you want competent players.
>>378344559
Bloodbath last night was horrible man, they voted for fallen fighters and bridges couldn't take D or E
>>378343741
How does it compare to Project Reality
>>378342414
Already did, it's good
>tfw two days until crispy gooks
>>378345001
Visually much nicer, the sound effects are the best of any war game that exists, the maps have greatly improved and I'd say at this point surpass PR. Still not to the level of vehicle/weapon implementation, but worth getting if you enjoy PR. Theres more players as well, but not significantly
>>378345581
I can't fucking wait mate. see you in the ricefields.
>this time I'm gonna actually learn how to SL
>>378344104
Game quality drops everytime there's a sale. It wll improve after a week or so usually.
Does Rising Storm: Vietnam have a campaign mode?
Like, as in multiplayer campaign. I seem to recall it being in Red Orchestra 2, but there wasn't any mode like that in the Vietnam beta....
>>378346259
From what i've seen, it does.
>>378346259
Nah just MP supposedly, the campaign for RO2 really sucked. Just MP maps with bots
>>378346259
It doesn't at the moment, but you know it will. Why do you think it takes so long to switch sides between rounds? It's to appeal to the campaign mode fans. Those fuckers love to just sit around and wait.
>>378346350
>From what i've seen, it does.
wat.
it most certainly does not have campaign and the developers have said that it's not planned and may be considered sometime down the road.
>>378346350
>>378346432
>>378346508
I meant as in the online campaign where you all vote on maps to attack
Man, I really hope that it's in the game. If not, I hope they put it in soon. Made the matches much more meaningful imo.
>>378346259
>Does Rising Storm: Vietnam have a campaign mode?
NO
O
>>378346689
Oh shit im sorry, didn't read your whole post
I now realize you meant this campaign mode. My guess is that it will be added or something, but who knows
>>378344840
We were all in a competitive match against 2RB that was being lived streamed. Weekend warriors shut down so all the noobs probably moved there.
>>378346689
>I meant as in the online campaign where you all vote on maps to attack
No, all it has is standard map-voting, there is no campaign like RO2, you change maps and you're team now consists of different people.
it's what I loved about the campaign mode, being on the same team with the same people over the course of a few hours and actuallytrying to win with a decent commander etc
>>378346874
I fucking hope so. Nothing like have a really based TL who's fucking screaming at his men to get them into the cap zones/hold the lines. It's all so magnified when there's a grander objective that goes beyond the battle.
>>378344104
Play gooks.
Makes killing them so much easier.
>>378347092
I hope so too anon, One of the first times I ever played SL in RS1, it was on the Night map and we were pushed back to the last cap on the airfield. I told our team to wait for Arty DANGER CLOSE, which was nearly right in front of the point. Ticket gap was close and both teams were almost completely out. I yelled at our guys to hold the line as the enemy team ran headfirst into the arty on that runway part. It was a great feeling for sure.
>recieve 30+ points from 1 arty mark
Is there a better feeling?
>>378347092
>when there's a grander objective that goes beyond the battle.
it was certainly neat but not without it's problems.
team stacking was prevalent because being stuck with the same team across multiple maps/matches isn't a fun prospect if they are bad. and certain territories had guaranteed map picks which hindered variety and could lead to back-to-back matches on the same map for the same territory.
(i'm looking at you, apartments)
i'd only be excited with it's reintroduction if changes were made. otherwise i can take it or leave it.
>>378344104
sorry man, I will try to get good now that I have it, and I dont rush, I just defend with my MG and kill all the commies I see
>>378346689
does the same happen with the germans vs russians? or do I need to buy RO2 to be able to do it? because I could only play campaign in the pacific
>>378347529
That sounds so satisfying. did you advance after the arty, and walk over the screaming bodies of your enemies?
I always remember being stuck in a trench with the TL, Russian sniper and LMG was mowing us down. Had to hide in the corpses to avoid death. people screaming all around me, TL had his hand grasping upwards, bullets hitting the trench walls and dirt falling on top of me. all the blood and mud, it was glorious to be a part of it.
shit like that makes Red Orchestra truly one of the best games I've ever played. It makes you terrified of death.
>>378348346
Yeah I get what you mean, it could be better. Did they have the campaign in Red Orchestra 2 from launch? or was that something they added in at a later date? I bought the game quite late.
>>378349806
correct, same with the nazis vs soviets.
>>378338520
The person that just said yea doesn't understand every server in RS1 will be dead in a matter of days when RS2 comes out. So no it won't be the same
>mfw hearing all of your teammates get killed and scream and you cant do anything about it
>>378348073
>recon plane shows entire enemy team on your mark
>TL doesn't use it
>>378341429
Squad is filled with people who think they're in actual combat. It's cringy
>>378350227
It really isn't. I have over 100 hours in it and it's fairly rare to find anyone like that. People here act like it has ARMAs community, and it doesn't
>>378350164
I usually put them out of their misery with a headshot.
I used to feel bad about it, but now I do it unconsciously. It's just routine. like making your bed.
>>378350340
Arma is the absolute most boring game ever created. Nothing happens, and it runs like shit.
The only " fun " I've ever had was naming myself " enemy combatant " and tking helicopters in an apc
>>378350351
I dont, some of them always kill me when we play Aparments because they confuse me with an enemyI do the same too
>>378344840
Heh, I think I was the ruskie commisar last night, you guys coulddn't do shit for D/E, I just kept artying the point once you got it and capped it right back. Never had an easier game before.
Tried to get into it again but it always seems like the Japs team needs players and are getting stomped.
Is this common?
I only enjoyed late RO2 and some coordinated RS2 matches.
I enjoy the game when the teamplay is there because moving from cover to cover feels meaningful and tense.
When it isn't coordinated it's just getting killed by random bushes when you attempt to do anything other than prone and wait
>>378343709
i dont get it, i would describe RO the same way. hell, ro vietnam coming out in a few days, i have the same opinion on it. they are all fun, but i dont really see how you could call any of them "great" in the issues you described
