I think it's because it seems "fussy" to people. The thing is, after a few test punches you start to realize that charges punches aren't something that you have to think about so much as a natural consequence of mobility. Jumping and dashing while holding the buttons should lead to having a charged punch if you don't find an opening. And if you mess around with springmans dash and jump you'll realize you can pretty much let go at the right time to trigger the deflect. I've been using it over blocks most of the time. Got 110 last test punch. I didn't see anyone else using his deflect effectively. And I'd argue I'm still not even good with it. At least not the the level of that Helix poster with perfectly timed ducks, wew lad that was impressive.

Just hold the dash or jump button to go into charge animation, then release button to deflect. Charging whenever you can is good anyways because of elemental effects.

Fire causes knockdown. Wind is knockback. Electric disabled their arms allowing you a free throw or combo. Explosive has a blast radius that causes knockdown, you can hit walls near someone to explode them. Blind puts ink on the screen. Not really sure on stun and freeze.

Electric seems the best though.

Unique effects beyond damage. Electric gives a shock that paralyzes them for a moment, opening them up for grabs and shit. Wind lifts them up and if you git gud you can juggle with fast punches. Fire knocks them down, though I haven't figured out the particular advantages, and Ice slows them down for a moment. Oh also the blorb blinds people so they can't see shit for a moment.

Overal electric and wind seem the most useful, but I'm sure people will figure out what's good in why situation soon enough.

You can also just dash and hold the button to charge, then use it in the air or wherever you want. Mechanica can charge in the air because of hover, and charging after a dash has her move while charging because of her thrusters. Guarding charges too but is not as effect as dash or jump and does not charge Minmin's arm to dragon mode.

I can imagine the Toaster, Boomerang and Tribolt being easily reworked as middle-B, up-B (cyclone=recovery) and side-B.
