The 64 was capable of producing some amazing graphics that contained none of the typical complaints about the system's graphics: smudginess, blockiness, vaseline coating, etc. It's not the system's fault that developers constantly phoned it in.

No it is in fact a system limitation. 64x64 res textures were often stretched to no end

Also the fact that by default the games have the smudging effect on is another thing (which most games can have disabled with a special gameshark code)

Pic related, this is why the textures were blurred all the time. they looked awful

you can in fact disable the aa in most games with an action replay or game shark code (many are being made, some dont work yet). The AA is ugly as fuck but without it you get worse results

Spyro was literally the only series I can think of on PS1 that didn't either have fog or tiny rooms to disguise the 10 foot draw distance.

Why people keep trying to defend Ps1 graphics are beyond me.

Downloaded this for Wii, sometimes couldn't even understand the voices because of loud music and sfx, still, good game, very Arcade-y, it also looks like it belonged to the PS1 rather than the N64, much less being from Nintendo.

Wow, in that era, more than any other, gaijin devs really knew what the fuck they were doing, look at how fucking Crash bandicoot ( 1 to CTR) and Spyro looked, they even ran faster than this, the smudgy thing not only looked horrendous, but it was a way to hide how lazy some things were, granted, you save space and time whenever you can, and since N64 could do this shit, they, of course, went with it.
