I played witcher 3 for Gwent and loved it.

I played this in early beta and found the new cards and rule changes overwhelming. I think I'm just gonna wait until the single player tutorial mode is out so I can learn all the cards one at a time.

Or does anyone know a good youtuber who explains this shit to retards such as myself?

I'm just too tired to learn cardgames. I learned Yugioh. Gave up with Faeria.

Been loving it. Set out to make a wild hunt inspired deck with the public beta release and managed to make something actually quite viable. Still need to replace Geralt for something else, probably Woodland Spirit.

Bit unsure about Ocvist so far. Not quite sure what silver card would perform better though. Maybe something with more of an immediate impact. Two drowners could probably be pretty viable as well instead of the frost giant and one of the clear sky cards. Haven't quite figured out the optimal setup yet. Need to get that 4th gold card before I can really decide on it.

Deck is a blast to play and requires quite a lot of thought to it. Beats a lot of the netdecks very often if you know how to navigate the deck well.

Well at least Gwent is build on the name of a franchise that had an outreach to millions of people. Everyone who played Witcher 3 is aware of Gwent. It's also heavily advertised on the GoG client which quite a lot of people use. That's some pretty good marketing for it.

I haven't played it but if I were to get serious about a video game CCG again it would probably be Shadowverse, generous as hell with the card drops when I played and pretty fun too.

Honestly the biggest reason I will never touch CCG is because they're not TCG's. At least in YGO when I got bored of my Zombie, Blackwing, or Crystal Beast deck I could trade the card off for cash or for other cards. I refuse to invest money on RNG bullshit when I could instead personally buy or trade for the card. It's pretty much just a more forgiving type of gambling due to the dust mechanic which actually fucks you over if you want to build a collection while making a new deck. These types of systems are very fucking scummy.

Drought applies a weather effect to all the opponent's rows that deals 3 damage to the lowest strength minion on each row every turn. Ragnarok does the same but deals damage to the highest strength minions.

They're gold cards but way too strong regardless. Pretty much forces every deck to run 2-3 clear weather effects to be competitive.

Its similar, but you'll need to learn all the cards since you cant rely on w3's gwent. For example avallach in w3 is a 0 power spy unit that lets you draw 2 cards and in Gwent its a 10 strength regular unit that makes both players draw 2 cards

Easy af to get into, every faction starts with a decent premade deck that you can tweak a little. Then you can do all the challenges for a few kegs and disenchant the spare Geralt to craft a silver. I just downloaded it earlier and I'm enjoying it. It's definitely not as beginner-friendly as Hearthstone but frankly that's for the best since this game actually requires you to think when you play it. Just keep in mind what youre losing to and find out a strategy or cards that you can use to counter it. If you havent already, make sure you do all the solo content for free cards/leaders. Like i mentioned, weather is currently the meme strat and i think with a starter monster deck edited around a bit will work fine. Overall the game is really nice. Unless your opponent has the penultimate deck for their faction, you can easily hold your ground with some basic thought against any deck it seems. I've only had maybe one game where I felt like i had my ass kicked genuinely (against a Nilfgaard reveal deck), every other game has been neck to neck numbers.

Either gonna go for Skellige or Nilfgaard (once I build up far more cards for a reveal deck). Only major complaint is that weather needs to get reworked, not sure what it was like during closed beta.

rule of thumb - run clear skies, at least one in any deck, pioneers and netbuilders exploit weather to no end and get fucked by versatile decks
oh also, cleaver is a must if you do not have other silvers

The game is fucking amazing in how playing intelligently can seriously even the odds.

Not only that but it's super balanced as fuck right now (or maybe none of the players I've encountered so far have super cheap decks yet).

I've won so many games on round 3 by a hair and I've only been using starter decks.

Nilfgaard and Scoia'tael especially are the most fun decks because of the sheer amount of tools they have at their disposal.

Northern Realms is so-so. Both the blue stripes themed and siege themed oriented decks need improvements imo, right now it's so easy as Nilf and Scoia'tael to mess them up, but armor-buffing is still fun as fuck.

Monster and Skellige are a bit boring for me. I think they need to add another layer of complexity for both factions.

I love The Witcher and I do love the game itself but fuck me its garbage playing it multiplayer. Every deck is a weather deck. Hearthstone took a while before it had cancerous levels of shit like that and Gwent has done it right away.

The single player story mode looks like it might be great though, waiting for that.

Emhyr with Cahir enables some pretty degenerate bounce combos.

I haven't tried fake Ciri yet, Letho has been hit or miss, but he's flexible he can be used to protect a huge Impera Brigade by eating it, or disrupt some enemy combos.

I hate playing against Nilfgaard, every single card gives them so many options, they are unpredictable. Also playing SK starter+ so they fuck me hard with the Vico Medics.

We once went to 80-60 on third round with only 3 cards each.
