Mostly nuat the perfect storm of pikmin fans joining one random pikmin thread one day, and the experience was so great, that we all had to keep them up.

Basically, Pikmin threads are becoming the younger sibling to Kirby threads.

A few months ago this dude on youtube was playing pikmin 2 for the first time and it happened a few times that he lost so many pikmin to a boss that he was just one short for carrying back the treasure. And later when fighting the beady long legs in the hole of heroes for like 30 minutes with little pikmin, he desperately watched as the treasure slipped into the water and he had no blues.

I can't remember if shit like this happened when I first played. I'm kind of an autist with pikmin and can't finish a game unless it's with 0 deaths.

Here's another repost due to new pictures...

Next, we have some potted plant outside my bedroom window, which kind of gave me a cool idea for a cave in a house themed area. And yes, I posted this before in a pikmin thread quite a while ago, but I lost mine and couldn't find the thread I posted it in, so if any kind anon's know where some of those threads are, I would auck your dicks.

Anyway, this potted plant could be in an off-shoot garden area of a house themed area, where you access it by getting up tho this window ledge, where the window will probably be open or broken, then building a long bridge to cross over to the pot, which seems to be sitting in the middle of nowhere, with nothing but a long expance of grass around it.
The cave itself with be Cloaking Burrownit themed (or whatever Pikmin 3's versions of it are called), with a Queen Burrownit as the end of cave boss. The cave itself started out as an ant hill style burrow system underground, starting with the potted plant, which has a hole going through it straight into the ground. The burrow was made when the queen was much smaller, which is evident by how masisve it will be compared to the entrance when you see it at the end of the cave.

Every spaceship needs one of these, but I don't actually know what it's for. Every once in a while, it goes wild and lets out a lot of noise, but I never pay much attention to it, so it doesn't do me much good. I really should read that instruction manual one of these days!
>This noisy gauge is always letting of spontaneous clicks and buzzes. It can be kind of annoying.

Kirby threads are shit though. You can't have a single differing or remotely negative opinion or you'll get crucified and labelled as a shitposter. They're circlejerks.

At least these threads are ok with people not liking certain aspects of one game over another or preferrences. You won't be beheaded at the gallows for not liking Pikmin 2.

Reposting this for contex for the next photo:

I think it would be the coolest shit ever if after every world boss, instead having the boss just cough up the treasure in front of you, it would lead you to a room where the treasure was, and every treasure room was this huge ass landscape, made specifically for the view, and if you wait there longg enough, you'll barely see a real animal in the back ground.

For instance: there you just killed a boss in the forest area of the game, and you go to the room dedicated to that boss's treasure, and it shows a HUGE expance of forestry, and if you wait there for a few minutes, you can barely see a huge ass deer or moose walk by in the distance.

Another example could be a beach-side boss fight, which leads to its treasure room and a beautiful view of the ocean, where you can see a dophin or a whale briefly surface.

thanks anon.

And yeah, I'm still a bit iffy on real animals being in the back ground. I do like the idea of there being past bosses in the background instead. as a matter of fact that idea is growing on me more and more.

I just keep latching onto the idea of real animals because it all came from this one idea I had to have a moose barely visible in the distance in a sort of creepy/ominous way.

I hope Pikmin 4 has gore again, I liked looking at the empress bulblax explode and see all of the juice fly away, i absolutely loved when the empress squished her own babies and you could see their blood on the ground and how the crawbster's stomach exploded and how the titan dweevil dissolved and how the pikmin bled when stabbed by a burrownit.

Am I the only person who thinks that pikmin 1 is better than pikmin 2? besides the better enemy design in pikmin 2, I think pikmin 1 did a better job in forcing you to manage your time and be careful.

It felt like every decision you made, no matter how minuscule, has an affect.

I'm 20 y/o lmao. A lot of my sewer type photos come from around my uni, but some are taken in the city of my hometown. And for photos taken in the city type areas I always have he philosophy of "I'm most likely never going to see any person who notices me taking pictures of weird shit again, so who cares if they see me?" Though I do still try and wait until there aren't any people around, since I do still have some shreds of dignity after all.
>>
>>378284743
Pikmin 2 has more to do, and they fixed a LOT of the issues with AI in the first one (Pikmin being retarded after drinking nectar and taking 20 seconds to come back, Pikmin tripping and not following you anymore, sometimes calling Pikmin back didn't work, etc)
I think in terms of the genre, Pikmin 1 would be the best, but in terms of control, enemy design, and amount of things to accomplish, Pikmin 2 is better
>>
>>378284948
For sure, I feel it. I do like the pictures, and I used to do the same thing back when I first got Pikmin 2 (when I was 14 or so?), so I can respect it. The pictures are all interesting and nice.
Do you have any photoshop abilities? Maybe you'd enjoy editing your photos with enemies/obstacles/Pikmin in them

This, while also mention the survival scenario and sense of discovery of 1 being something that hasn't been replicated in its sequels or any other game for that matter. To me it seems like 3 tried to recapture some of that magic but wasn't entirely successful.

I Have very minimal photoshop skill, due to all of these photos being on my phone, so I use a photo editing app on it, then upload them to here theough my phone. yeah yeah, I know, phoneposters and such.
I have actually sone what you are suggesting before, though. I did it to a few photos I took and uploaded to a pikmin thread about a year ago, but I can't find the threads they were uploaded in, and I've since lost the photos themselves. They were all a lot better than the ones I've uploaded here recently, for the most part.

3 was still lenient in its time. Obviously more strict than 2, but not the claustrophobic feeling 30 days of the first game

It's really a toss-up for me, but I really do love the first one. Managing your time knowing there's a real limit is fun (unlike Pikmin 3 where the limit is so high there's no way anyone could feasibly even come close no matter how bad they are so it's essentially just Pikmin 2 above ground). The atmosphere is god-tier, feels very lonely and it has that early 3D look to it. Plus there's pretty much no story outside of the short opening and ending cutscenes, so it's pure gameplay all the way through. And although it's rather short, that's also kind of a positive because you can replay to try and improve your efficiency without committing too much to it.
>>
>>378285667
3 tried and got it right to some degree, but being a game of the modern generation, it's filled with cutscenes and hand hold-ish level design that take some of that away.

Bro you should take some time and learn better lighting and compositional techniques to create interesting scenes vs this flat on "clinical" look at each one.

I can see in my head these scenes but a big disconnect is the photo.

Since Pikmin are so small you have to think of the angle/framing like a tilt shift almost.
