They work but they are not official. I bought the full pack and they work and still hold up. You can also buy DS games like that such as HGSS for like $8.99.

Nintendo said it would be too costly to reproduce the old gba boxes so they just produce the carts now and sell them on to third party sellers like independent retailers and ebay sellers.

Bootleg pokemon games work grest but they don't allow you to connect and trade with other gamers.

Not much besides the obvious issue of copyright infringement, if they're clearly labeled as reproductions. But they're sold as the real thing, which is a scam. Paying for them is supporting scammers.
