TF2 was my daily game until Overwatch came out. Not a bad game, but Overwatch is clearly superior and is actually getting updates as opposed to TF2 not having a single weapon update that wasn't a bunch of reskins.

LoL became popular because it was technically more advanced than Dota (which was also a map for another game) and because game it was competing with (HoN) was buy to play.

Overwatch became popular because it's like TF2 but more accessible. TF2 was great game before, but Valve stopped giving a fuck and just turned it into money milking machine.

Here's is what I'll give you about TF2 that it has over Overwatch. The official maps all that pretty good holding spots, different areas of attack so that all classes to get through somehow. Overwatch (while I actually believe can be played in that same way, but people just don't) is just holding at a single choke point despite the fact that a lot of the levels have great choke spots, but the spawn is just so far from them that it is pointless to do because if you get three teamates down, they're not going to make it to the point in time.

Third map on dustbowl_cp is probably one of my favorites because of how well a slow and steady approach to Defense worked on that level. And I do love the weapon system because you can play to your own strengths by changing it up to deal with a particular enemy (In overwatch that's done by switching characters, but too few people, myself included just don't sometimes) and that's just great.

Also, cp_steel. Best map, I want something similar to it in Overwatch.

I tried it out yesterday. It's nice to look at but way more shallow than I was expecting given it's popularity. Only 3-4 abilites per character? The actual gameplay was underwhelming. I think people really just enjoy the game for the characters. I have no desire to play the game again. Most of the characters are pretty cool at least. It just feels so barebones, I guess I expected more meat to the gameplay after all the hype.
