Arkham combat would actually be kind of fitting, given that by the last game, Batman was practically hovering over several yards to land blows on goons running down the block away from him.

As this, it's cool, but feels kind of floaty for some reason. Like Spidey is made of helium and just bashing into guys. I'm not saying he needs to feel tanky and hitting them like a truck, but something just seems off with that.

Seriously. I think a lot of people would forgive if it were to do moon-swinging. But if the game was confirmed to feature no ulockable costumes at all, just about everyone would lose interest. Peter is generally meant to be young because it's part of his tragedy. He's someone who a gifted youth thrust into the life of a hero and forced to give up the better years of his life to be the man he wasn't the day he lost his Uncle. Sure, he's gotten older in some of the continuities, but they largely keep him in the late teens/early adult years where he can be still be treated like a "kid" to the likes of Captain America and so on and applauded for his maturity and willingness to sacrifice persona happiness when most others at his age would be just enjoying their youth.

As for the movies, Marvel only has now been able to strike upon the Spider goldmine after Sony sat on the film rights with two failed serials. Granted, I don't know if Homecoming is going to break the mold or just be the third failed line and we're rebooted yet again in 2020.
