It's not too long but completely linear, so a playthrough is longer of course than a single route in multiroute VNs.

Read Nasu interviews and Fate/Proto materials, and he talks about how he wanted to have a female protagonist (Akaya) with a (correctly) male Arthur, but didn't think the predominately male market could identify with a female protagonist, or that it could compete with other VNs if lacking erotic content. So he made Akaya into Shirou - which necessitated Arthur be Artoria else homo - and a full course of seafood.

Leaf/AP is the same way, with Ray Romano and White Album being their only IPs which are 17+.
