Lets be real the game won't be a condemnation of Christians nor a condemnation of conservatism. Why? Basic economics. In America, no particular 'wing' plays video games. On average, Americans play video games period. So Ubisoft, who just wants to make a profit from as many people as possible, would never risk the slightest possibility of shitting on a major part of their playerbase.

It's clear just from early material that the game is making a point that this cult are not REAL Christians, that they are corruption of the faith preying on vulnerable but also opportunistically evil people, and the protagonists are a collection of natives ranging from generally enjoyed archetypes even for secular people such as the 'shotgun preacher', the blue collar underdog who honors his brave forefathers and knows how to work with his hands, and a Southern Lilly whose protective of their home.

In short, its going to be another Ubisoft open world adventure™ with an apolitical conflict. I think the setting is one of the most interesting they've tried in a while and I hope they have detailed hunting and fishing and million different dog models.

Even Watchdogs 2, which became infamous for its political pandering, was just an attempt by Ubi to get what the "kids these days" are into and to capture the environment of San Francisco (which to be fair is really gay and commie).
