Can we settle this
Yeah, buy whichever fits your budget better.
>>378233307
I only buy superior Intel and Nvidia products. AyyyyyyyyyMD is the designated poorfag brand designed for third worlders who need a combined PC/space heater.
>>378233307
Ryzen if:
Your budget is $200+
You run GNU/Linux or plan to upgrade to it.
Intel 5000 series if:
Your budget is $300+
You run Windows 7

>Yeah, buy whichever fits your budget better.
They come in different costs. Pic related has AMD coming out the benchmark victor but still $100 cheaper. And while AMD destroys intel with multi-core use, Intel usually destroys in single/dual core use
It's not that simple
>>378233627
> not using windows 10 for gaming
wtf
>>378233835
of course i forget pic related
>>378233843
who cares
>>378233843
Who wants to deal with forced 'upgrades' that can break your games.
Not to mention that the Store Lock feature is in place now and its only a matter of time before they switch it on for everyone 'for security'.

name 1 (one) game which was broken by a windows update
If you're going to buy a cpu now that you want to last at least 3 years Ryzen is the clear choice. Right now Ryzen has higher fps lows, while Intel has better highs, but you will most likely not see the better highs if you don't have a high end gpu.
And if you watch any benchmarks the cpu usage is very close to limit on Intel, while Ryzen has a lot of room because of the core/thread count.

>Name game
>That game doesn't matter!
>Or "Well of course that broke! It uses [outdated technology here]"
Ultimately software will probably get updated to use Wine just like everything for DOS already just uses DOSbox.
Of course, that could be stopped if Microsoft decides they count as 'emulators' now that they're no longer allowed on their platform.
>>378234586
> afraid of one game potentially breaking
> telling people to switch to linux where nearly everything is always broken (and where all distribution upgrades are disasters)
only a linuxtard can be this retarded
>>378233307
if your i7 doesn't even let you play 3 games at once, then you are not the real PC master race
>>378233307
Intel 7700k for single threaded games.
Ryzen 7 1700 for multy core games and other tasks.
It doesn't matter that much as long as you're not aiming for 144fps and have a good enough GPU
The exception being games that are really poor at using multiple cores or are just badly optimized in general, like fallout 4 and Arma 3
>>378234843
> everything is always broken
False, AMD in particular has drivers on GNU/Linux that are better than there are on any other platform with most other hardware also simply working with no extra drivers required.
> where all distribution upgrades are disasters
Also false, but even if they were at least you'd be able to decide when to upgrade instead of having it forced on you.
>>378233307
Buy Intel if you only play 640x480 games, for everything else get Ryzen.
Ryzen
The only intel CPU worth buying is that 50$ 2c/4t pentium
>>378233835
are you retard.
>if you only literally game
>intel
>if you game plus do productive shit
>ryzen
>if you only work
>ryzen
its not that hard
My games shouldn't have to suffer because you amd shitters have shit builds. Fucking Brazilians
>>378236687
>le low resolution maymay
That's how you test CPUs in games, by removing the GPU bottleneck
Fucking moron
>>378236825
Ryzen also peforms better in many games
>>378236963
Whatever you say, schlomo
Ryzen is better in most demanding games and much better in everything that isn't pure gaming with nothing in the background
>>378236973
i5s are dead, we all know this.
>>378237119
DELETE THIS, GOY
>>378237021
Not an argument
You show me metrics that low resolutions don't tax the CPU more and I'll believe you
