Because other than turak it was literally the best shooter for n64.
Also it was kinda the first multiplayer shooter that went mainstream.
It was a solid shooter at the time for the N64 and the singleplayer was good by its own merits too.
The movie was also pretty good, though too bad it was Brosnan's only good Bond movie.

>play the game while growing up for years on end
>not a big Bond fan, so didn't see the movie
>years later finally see the movie
>recognize the characters and even locations
>marvel at how spot on some locations were
>suddenly realize this feels like a movie adaptation of a game, not the other way around
Did this happen to anyone else?

I loved the movie, yet Perfect Dark is objectively superior to the game in every single way.
nightfire is better

>Brosnan's only good Bond movie.
Fuggin this.
He was a great Bond but the other movies themselves were lame.
Plus GoldenEye had Sean Bean and whatsherface.

The music. N64 has a perfect OST that's memorable while the movie doesn't.

Nobody cares about Nightfire.

He means mainstream as in little kids and big nerds both played it. Golden Eye brought FPS games to the masses and Halo to it to the next level.

>child
found the insecure manbaby
>>378234309
Yes, pretty much exactly this.
>>378232227
same question
>>378237353
Except people who like good games
>>378239126
nightfire just wasn't as cohesive
>>378232227
It's one of the few instances where the tie in is better than the source material
>>378239126
Nightfire has a few fun gimmicks but that doesn't make it a fun game.
I could argue that Agent Under Fire was the best Bond game ever if my entire basis was built around the Q-claw turning everyone into Spiderman.

It had better controls therefore better

Subjective based on platform and if that's the extent of your argument, we have nothing further to discuss.
