I did this to some extent in Guild Wars after the Embark Beach update allowed for 7 hero parties, and I went full autism building up me and my 7 AI party.

I didn't get too discouraged when the build(s) I was working on turned out shit though, I just moved on and tried another build instead.

Surprisingly fun actually, considering I played most of the game solo pretty much.
