as someone who is a gigantic blizzard fanboy, and who has recently replayed war1 and war2, i can assure you that they have aged poorly and are incredibly frustrating to play by todays standards

you're better off watching someones letsplay of it on youtube if you want to relive your nostalgia

1 is kinda bad since it lacks a bunch of improvements we all take for granted, simple stuff like hotkeys, group selecting and functional unit AI

Fun fact, Warcraft 2 almost used the same control scheme but then came E3 where Blizzard presented the game alongside C&C 1 which came to the show floor with the context sensitive clicks.
After a bit of friendly spying between the two studios, they knew this had to change so they adapted the context sensitive interface as we know it today, but in a typical fashion of things "inspired" by Westwood's games, they shifted the side it was on. So just like both Warcrafts had the UI on the left side to be different from Westwood's right-sided panels, they also switched the context sensitive button to be right click one instead of the Westwood's left click.
