Aside from Nintendo deciding to shoehorn cutscene artwork that emphasizes Samus' buttcrack in vivid detail, ZM was a great game. I mean, at least the level design was competent. I have only a couple of complaints about ZM: The game goes out of its way to discourage sequence breaking, and the corridors are fucking cramped due to the GBA's smaller screen resolution. As for the latter, I don't know why Nintendo couldn't just design multi-scrolling chambers with ceilings that extend off-screen. Metroid II did just that.

True, I'm not complaining about Zero Mission's design just mainly complaining about Nintendo's failure to characterize Samus properly. Zero Mission took Samus out of her suit because Sakamoto wanted to put her in a dire situation, something he did far better in Fusion. I don't know what the fuck he was doing with Other M, I know D-Rockets helped with that but seriously instead of crying over a shit cutscene he should have done a far better job with the story and kept Samus suit on. The suitless moments in both Zero Mission and Other M felt more like failed attempts at fanservice that was done better in Metroid 1-4 and the Prime series.

Nintendo treated suitless Samus as a surprise fanservice if you beat the game at a quick time. It was a present for the players if they were good speed runners. Not him but that's because Sakamoto wanted to add a shitty "dire situation" in the game which put more of a strain on the development team since they had to rush this in the game.

You know, the Zelda in BotW was actually a rather active character, especially in comparison to the incarnations of the character in other games. She's presented as a smart, but flawed young woman who is torn between her desire and her duty, and though she ultimately has to rely on her knight, the hero, she is the one who ensured that he could even get a chance to save the day.

I get that the artist is just mad that we've not gotten a new Metroid in forever, but Zelda not being a strong character isn't one of the problems that BotW had.
