In 5 when he's married to Park he had already lost the eye in 1985 but according to 0 timeline, the eye was lost between 1988-1989. Saejima says he was unaware of the marriage or even Park and Katsura (unrelated) until "after he was out" of prison in 4. I'm not denying Park's existence in the timeline but the writers really fucked this one up with 0 and seem to want to rewrite what happened exactly, especially since 0 was 5's successor.

1985 was the Ueno Seiwa hit or whatever, and the day of Majima was captured, uncompliant, and had a tanto shoved into his eye for poops and giggles. Then Shimano threw him in a torture facility for people with less bushy eyebrows for a year, so that puts him at 1986, and then he gets out and sent to Sotenbori's asscrack for a couple years. The headmaster from Kamen Rider Fourze mentions that he'd been there a few years near the start of the game, so he definitely didn't lose it in 1988, and the game takes PLACE in December 1988, so it can't be 1989 either.

Majima was in the hole for a year and then was put directly in Sagawa's care in 0. When the fuck did he have time between any of that to cut his hair, make friends and do literally anything. The shirt is similar to the one he wears around the time of the hit with Saejima. The image is of everyone in Sotenbori and even if this took place after the events of 0 (impossible considering the timeline were give), why the fuck would Majima ever want to go back to Sotenbori?

The marriage doesn't add up and all I'm saying is in 5, just given the basic information from the past 4 games, the marriage is the most poorly written subplot in the entire game. They wanted to include it to make the plot more convuluted but all they did was tangle up their own timeline. Just remake the game so it adds up.

Kuze was likely the best fighter of them when he was younger, but his age has taken it's toll on him. He's still the toughest.

Amano is the physically strongest, but he became lazy and never reached his full potential.

Shibusawa is the most unknown in that regard, but he seems to be the most skilled. This could be more due to Kuze's age/Awano's lifestyle, but either way at the point of the story he's the best fighter.

I didn't play any Yakuza game before 0 and after I beat Yakuza 0 I played through the others and am currently on 5. The only thing you get if you play the previous ones before 0 is you get references and how 0 uses plot points and gameplay moments by using different aspects from the other 5 games, but of course like I did you can still find enjoyment and appreciate this if you play the 5 other titles after 0.
