I just beat the game, let us talk about its downsides

Shido's castle was fucking awful, pinnacle of un-fun leveldesign. Had to rest for few days without playing the game when i entered yet another rodent labirynth location.

I enjoyed it, it's a proper dungeon that goes on and on with floor puzzles and midboss after midboss. Just what you'd expect from an endgame SMT dungeon. The Engine room boss rush and the Shido fight are great too.

I just finished his palace. I thought it was pretty solid. The rodent parts didn't last long and added some variety to dungeon crawling. All of the palaces did a pretty good job with variety except for Kamoshida's, which was easily the worst in the game.

it's not really about being stuck, it's just too much of walking. Take for example puzzles from last levels of mementos: those were "local", you were running around small areas and solving some kind of logic thingies. In okumura/shido, you just ran around enormous levels and did something that's simple in logic, but takes a lot of time to walk through.

What´s with the airlock hate, that wasn´t even the worst part of that dungeon unless your complaint about it is that it´s just there to add needless length. I hated the cutscenes before and after the hydraulic press things, especially if you want to grab the chests and that big ass area where you had to find the director or whatever for his id. The cherry on top was the uninspired boss fight

I wouldn't have ever known considering I cleared those puzzles on my first try since I just used standard video game logic to assume that the only switches that mattered in the mazes were the farthest ones.

All of that was fine. ID hunting was alright because it had you comparing what you overheard the workers say with what the boss candidates were saying. And the press parts made good use of rooms rather than just having you run straight through, and forced you to avoid enemies when you were on the timer. It was all simple stuff but it broke up the monotony which is something 3 and 4 desperately needed. The only dungeon that didn't do this was Kamoshida's and that's why his was dogshit.

i think entire P5 combat was super easy compared to p3/p4. Confidants (especially futaba) were bringing incredible amounts of easiness/luck factor, and with futaba lv10 your party was basically invincible since she covers half of mortal attacks, and characters will endure with 1hp even if she won't cover at the moment. Plus random buffs, heals and SP, not to mention baton pass that makes every non-boss fight end in one turn.

It's like they traded whatever traces of tactics persona series had for cool/stylish combos.

If i remember correctly, akechi even had those evil forehead shadowing faces while talking about their evilness. Although i haven't cringed or anything, i guess i can forgive a lot when vidya has animu style. Anime style implies some kind of infantileness, after all.

This year was a great year and persona 5 was great vidya, but i think i'll remember Automata better than P5. They really did recycled a lot of P4 story-wise.

Not him, PAL regions got a pretty weird distribution deal where the publisher decided to do a simultaneous release but also underestimated the demand. This might be the only legit situation to pre-order games but it really is hard to tell when it happens.

Apparently they're printing out normal non-steelbook copies for us now and they should be in shops.
