No real dungeons or bosses.

Too many combat trials (Would be good if they were varied, but instead its just sentinals every time)

Broken difficulty
Bad frame rate
Shitty last boss

that's it, the game's more or less perfect otherwise
>>
no sidequests
shitty music and "dungeons"
no heart pieces
no collectibles
giant empty open world
I still have my switch too, holdin out hope for that metroid that I deep down know is bs

Should've had more dungeons like Hyrule Castle instead.

The final boss

What the fuck did they do to Ganon?

They could've had a great moment with a surprise Ganondorf appearance but instead they took the sort of unique mechanical spider ganon and made him into another giant boar.

Not much. It managed to make the open world exploring actually interesting by providing a well designed sandbox where a lot of things interacted in meaningful ways. It then provided a fairly large amount of content with which to interact with said content.

Most of the shit people complain about is ancillary bullshit that completely misses the point of the game and would drag it down otherwise, like it lacking proper dungeons or the music being sparse.

Breath of the Wild takes nearly every gameplay concept I hate and puts it in one game - replacing the things I like. Instead of an arsenal of weapons that prioritize utility over combat, we get breakable weapons that are disposible and unoriginal. Instead of a tight narrative that leads you from cleverly designed setpiece to cleverly designed setpiece, you get almost no narrative and nothing that even comes close to matching a traditional Zelda dungeon. Instead of an interesting, vibrant world with great art design, you get a big, empty world with copy/pasted art assets and a checklist of collectibles that aren’t hidden in any particularly interesting way.

Nah, it's not perfect otherwise. A lot of the trials that aren't combat shrines are blessing shrines and worthless since anything you get from them is outclassed by shit you can just get easily by killing some lynels. The melee combat only has a single combo per weapon, which makes each weapon feel much more limited than swords in previous games; you can't do thrusts (only spears can, and that's all they can do) or any sort of different swings, or even move while you swing your sword, making it feel even more limited than even OOT sword-wise. The overworld size is wasted entirely on hiding just shrines in otherwise potentially interesting places to explore instead of having any actual caves or hidden dungeons to explore that aren't the same recycled bullshit. Like, when I find the cave with the leviathan bones in the mountains, the entrance to the area looks fucking sick due to looking so ancient and uncharted, but when you actually make your way in all you get is a blessing shrine. there's no grand adventure into unknown hidden spaces to be had beyond what's observable outside and it's a total buzzkill.

Flurry Rush is a terrible mechanic that significantly reduces any tension combat has as well.

A lot of the sidequests are basically shitty fetch quests and there's barely anything on par with MM sidequests

The story is poorly handled and fails to make any of the characters interesting or particularly endearing. The dialogue within dungeons telling me how many terminals I have left is grating.

It's a good game, but it's nowhere close to perfect.

Blame Zelda and the Triforce. Imagine a Hyrule where Zelda dies before you leave the chamber of resurrection.

>>378178164
>too many blessing shrines
>too many combat shrines
>too few enemies
>terrible, clunky interface and control scheme
>dungeons too short and simple
>bosses too homogeneous
>sidequests are all grab X of Y item
>underwhelming final boss

if they could fix these problems in a sequel, the game would be literally perfect
>>
I wish there was more enemy variation. Darknuts would have been cool as fuck.
>>
>>378186612
That was the thing for me. Not enough iconic zelda enemies. Where the fuck are the ReDeads? The Pols Voice? The Poes? The motherfucking Like Likes?
>>
>>378180724
>start with elephant
>go to lizard, eagle, then camel

Pretty sure I ended up doing it in the order that was intended. Eagle was the easiest dungeon by far, but I wasn't too concerned with the puzzle difficulty because the atmosphere surrounding each one was amazing. The best part was that the dungeons themselves were the puzzles instead of just having a couple rooms where you hit a few switches to open a path to the boss.

But >>378181713 got it right. The final fight could have been so much more. Since you were already out in the open, you could have chased Calamity Ganon all across the land as he rampaged through the towns.
>>
>make it through camel
>get my shit kicked in
>go back and do the others

>>
>ctrl-f cinematic

It's ok guys, we're safe. He's not here yet
>>
>>378186825
A lot of people say things like "oh, well every enemy has to drop a weapon, so of course they variety is limited" But I feel like that's just lacking creativity. For example, the poe's lamp could be a weapon, like likes could drop weapons from past
monsters or adventurers they've eaten, and in Twilight Princess reDeads all carried these giant bad-ass cleavers.

And even then, that argument doesn't work because keese, chuchus, octorocks, big guardians, plebblits and taluses don't drop weapons and they're still in the game.
>>
>>378187758
I like the cut of your jib.
There are already enough weapons in the game to where I never felt like I'd be defenseless for long.
>>
>>378187657
>cinematic
>literally have to go out of the way to get most of the cutscenes

Yeah, this game is far from being a movie.
>>
>>378187758
>>378187915
The min-boss wizards are the ones that had the spellcasting rods right?

I didn't really notice the lack of ReDeads and Poes, but now that you mention it they would have been a nice addition to the game. Though most ReDeads were in very specific areas in older Zelda games IIRC.

Like-Likes were missing as well. Those guys would have been annoying as hell since they eat your equipped shield. I think the guardians neutralized a lot of the missing variety, but now that Nintendo saw the game's success I hope they'll include more creatures in future additions instead of pulling a Monster Hunter and leaving out half of the cast from the old games.
