Yes, definitely. The first half of the Water Book is by far the most slow one when compared to the rest of the show. By the finale of that book I guarantee you will be sold on it. I still in fact have the vivid memory in my head of me staying with my cousin to watch said finale, it was that good.

Nothing. It's just not as good in most departments, but it's extremely enjoyable. The setting while interesting, doesn't allow for as good a story as a couple of kids traveling the world which is enormous and mysterious in feudal times in the midst of a 100 year war to save the world while also being a coming of age piece. Korra is limited by being an inherently different show with a more strict setting and having to adhere to the history set by TLA, but it's still very good and absolutely worth watching all the way through. Season 2 disappointed many people but seasons 3 and 4 are great. Fantastic even. Season 3 has by far the best villain of either series.

Unlikely. Almost everything about this show was perfect. The fact that it has only one episode that is considered universably bad (the Great Divide, which is made fun of by the creators themselves later on) says a lot. This is one of the fews shows, both western and eastern, to feel like it wasn't rushed, nor did it drag on too long.

- Avatar-state is actually just superpowers granted by Raava rather than the past lives of previous incarnations. This somehow never got mentioned before when Aang talked to spirits and shit. Also the Avater is know some kind of spirit/human fusion which conveniently also never got mentioned before.
- Avatar was supposed to be unique in the way that only he/she can bend the 4 elements but apparently in Wan's time all you had to do was ask the fucking turtles for bending powers. Nothing prevented other people from doing so.

If you ask me, it's like trying to explain the force with science. TLA had a lot of great myths that helped to build the setting, such as the two lovers who learnt earth bending, or the dragons teaching humans to fire bend. It gave the world a greater identity, with a vast array of cultures with their own beliefs built from those myths like the waterbenders and the moon or the dragons and the people of the sun.

This is true. When Wan closed the portals, the only benders would have been the Avatar, and animals like dragons, since the lion turtles left the world.

The one in The Last Airbender literally returned to nonexistence while Aang was on it, hence nobody could find him. It only appeared before Aang for some unknown reason, but until then it didn't exist in the world.
