It's not okay since Tekken never was an online only game - sure, the purpose of it from PS3/360 era on was to be online. But there was always plenty of offline stuff too. In fact, Tekken is probably close to Blazblue in that department.

No, that's their fault on that part. If the game can run on PS4's hardware, they're expecting you to have at least something decent from around that year, which is at least 2013 or 2014.

That's a good 3-4 years ago. PS4 boasted to compete with top of the line hardware back then (only to be outdone spec wise just right after the E3 reveal conference by Nvidia), so it's not likely that there was anything more powerful to compete with a PS4 from 2012 and before.

I'm lose the point, I'm trying to say that at minimum, the specs for the game are as demanding as a PS4 which isn't too demanding nowadays. If you have anything less, anything less to compete with a console from this generation than it's entirely your fault.

Blacklist and every Storm game before 4 were all made around that time for LAST gen, based for last gen specs.

Storm 4 released so recently but relied on reusing the same engine and assets that the only reason it wasn't for PS3 was so they could push sales to a coming profitable platforms.

The game runs on Unreal 4, a game engine not made for last gen console hardware. The game uses more modern real-time rendering shaders and effects too that TTT2, USFIV and MK9 to compare.

SFV only gets away with this for using their unique artstyle than focusing on photo-realism out of the several games running on Unreal 4. But I doubt your specs could run that game 60fps non-stop too.

This one is my favorite part of your post. I maxed out graphics on Blacklist for PC. It's nowhere near as "complex" as you said, on a comparison for textures, models, graphic effects, etc.

Rendering "2 fucking characters and tiny ass map" wouldn't be so difficult if it wasn't for all the graphic and rendering effects happening at real time both in scenery and in arena. Some of those technically impressive cutscenes in Tekken 7 are also rendered in real-time too. And they have a lot going there.

Just to let you know, Blacklist doesn't render everything in real-time either. Bodies disappear after a count, there's no actual intense particle effects, etc.

I played Blacklist in and out, going for gold in every playstyle and more both on PS3 and maxed out settings on PC so I think I have a lot to say about what I know about it.

This post is dedicated to the graphic tech in both Tekken 7 and Blacklist. Avoid reading if too long and boring.

Everything in the game as far as bullets, footprints, explosion burn marks, and blood are all rendered into the map environments. They're static and fixed textures that paste themselves onto the environment relative to the position. Bullets aren't even rendered either. They're just hitscans with animations timed to their point on reaction. As opposed to real dynamic alternatives such as examples like Fear 2 or Max Payne 3, which rely on such graphical details as part of their gameplay, is no where close Blacklist is compared to those games.

The maps in Blacklist aren't all rendered in real time either. Enemies spawn on trigger points, traces of culling and texture pop-ins, and many other cutbacks where made to fill the illusion of an immersive experience.

Tekken 7 on the other hand as dynamic weather effects and lighting with example being the Dragon's Nest stage. Environments break on crushing moves and generally the pieces that shatter are never fixed and look different.

Stages with multiple layers for transition are indeed rendered in real time the moment the match is done loading, in the events that people are constantly breaking the environments to extend their combos further.

Particle effects are even more stressed out with the new engine, hit sparks are more intense, auras and rage art glow have dynamic properties tied to their movement and idle animations.

Lots of reflective surfaces used in stages such as the Infinite Azure, being a stage that takes place on a lake. Character models have exceptionally high detail to facial animations, clothing physics and textures. A lot of work has also gone into the environments too, as something is always happening.

Anyone who's been exposed to more technical, more dynamic fighting games will quickly pass on tekken. Other top fighters, namely Street Fighter, KoF and MK/Injustice have advanced impressively in their latest installments; but the relic that is tekken just can't seem to evolve, furthermore many combos can be done simply by hitting 1-button, and the nearly "instant-kill" rage art moves are just laughably broken. Instead of a supplying a proper fighting engine, matches in T7 seem to rely heavily on "who can get their rage move off first". So many elements of the gameplay don't even require any sort of skill. In my book, slow motion over and over again also gets old very quickly. And in the end, it's more of a novelty or gimmick rather than an actual, thought-out fighting game mechanic. But hey, the casual crowd will be pleased!

If you want something a little more "button-masher-friendly," tekken might be your cup of tea.... Key word, might.
