I’m interested to see how ubisoft justifies the world of Far Cry 5.

Cults are a very real thing, and they thrive in rural environments like this, but cults usually operate very low key. They operate out of basements and closed houses and unassuming churches. A cult could not get away with driving around in trucks with 50 cals mounted on them and impaling people with their holy symbol. Because then the feds get involved.

The fact that this all happens in America opens a LOT of questions. For one, where is the national guard? Do wireless internet and cameras not exist (I know there aren’t exactly cell towers every 40 miles out in rural Montana but a photojournalist can snap pictures in the Afghan desert and get them to the New York Times by the end of the day). In fact, the open and remote nature of the setting should make it really easy to inform the army about this. why can’t an accomplished team take some photos and just leave through the mountains?

The settings of 3 and 4 justified the complete lack of authority. What does the CIA care about some shitty pacific island nation or tiny himalayan cluster of villages? But this is AMERICA man. The army would salivate at the opportunity to put down a group of heavily armed terrorists.

A question for those of you that played the other Far Cry games...

What is so fun in these games, and why do you keep buying them? It's always pretty much the same thing, but with a different location and some new animals. They could literally release some modding tools, and people could create better games than this.

I personally played the first Far Cry, and THAT was something. It was made by Crytek, and it was just fantastic at the time... even now! I then tried Far Cry 2, but it was WAY too repetitive. The African setting was interesting, but the map was full of enemy checkpoints that would respawn every time. I gave up with it.

Now, I haven't played any other game of the franchise, but by looking at videos, it looks really dumbed down... there's even a freaking wallhack in the game. And every new game is exactly the same as the previous one, but with a new setting. Why are you guys encouraging Ubisoft to make the same stuff again and again? Why not boycott them, so they actually try to do something GOOD, and not just a money-making game that everyone will forget after one month?

You guys are just proving them how well their marketing is... and they'll keep using more budget for marketing instead developping a game with a good story and not a repetitive gameplay.
