I just got back into TF2 after 5 years' hiatus. It's actually not bad if you end up in a match where everyone on each team is actually trying to win (rare, but happens a good few times a night). It's a shame aimbotters feel more prevalent than they used to though; they don't even hide it. When you get killed by one they automatically spin and look in the air, or look the other direction into a solid obstacle.

But you can save any situation with Widowmaker Engineer if the map doesn't have too many unavoidable long sight-lines.

My biggest complaint about current TF2 is that you used to be able to easily hop in and out of games at random. The moment you stop giving a fuck, you're gone.

There was so little flaming, way less try harding, and you could pull some stupid trolly bullshit at any time and everyone was cool with it. It was just a bunch of bros playing a game, not because they were trapped, but because they chose to be in that server in that moment, instead of being instantaneously taken somewhere else.

At this point? Most definitely. The game I loved is long dead and replaced by a rotting corpse held up by piano wire. They nerfed and destroyed all the fun, goofy weapons, they introduced a competitive mode in an attempt to draw in all the obnoxious tryhard fucks, and they finally dealt the killing blow to the few community servers there were left.

Fuck Valve, I will never forgive them for what they did to my game.
