No, that's stupid. Ranger Patrol armor is manufactured in NCR, their guns and ammo come from the Gun Runners. The government can just cut off the supply of armor and lean on the Gun Runners to force them to stop supplying the Rangers with guns.

They'd have to find a stable income from somewhere because suddenly buying all their equipment, ammo and medical supplies is going to be expensive. Their effectiveness would be diminished by having to supply themselves in the wasteland, since the Army provided them with food, water and ammo at their Ranger Stations.

The Desert Rangers joined the NCR specifically because as an independent organization they couldn't do shit to stop Caesar's Legion. It's not the post-apocalypse anymore, wars are fought with armies and logistics, borders are guarded by hundreds of soldiers and California has thousands of citizens. The Rangers are a drop in the ocean compared to all that.

I really wish there was a better way to rp being part of most of the major factions.
Not being able to join up with the NCR kinda makes you feel like you're just their errand boy despite single handedly keeping them adrift in the Mojave. And acting like a frumentarii on the Legion's behalf also just makes you seem like a dumbass fanboy since you're not really officially part of the Legion.

The thing is the world would be more overgrown by this point and less of a wasteland. Chenrobyl was like 1000k nukes in a localized area. The Fallout Bible says that the US had 5k nukes and China had equal if not more. So it's 5x the potential of Chernobyl but spread across the whole span of the US which would lessen the concentration meaning it would be overall weaker radiation. In Chernobyl now plants are starting to grow and Animals are returning. They even have large fish in the cooling ponds of the nuclear reactors, and is growing very large wolves.

Big mods break the game at some point inevitably, because modders always get ahead of themselves and include features without thinking them through. I stopped extensively modding NV after I stumbled upon the last quest of Honest Hearts. Some morron decided that it was a good idea to replace the key item with a fucking note and did not adjust the code accordingly. It was also so painfully obvious that you had to do this, but like I said, those people always get ahead of themselves.

Now I only install cosmetic mods and porn stuff if anything, the worst thing that might happen there is that the respective mod bugs out and you can easily remove it without wrecking your save.

Maybe it was fixed in later versions, but it is the only mod I can think off that could have managed to fuck this up. Wanted to freshen up the gameplay, ended up nearly punching a hole in my monitor.

So I've got like 6 playthroughs of Fallout 1 to where I get the water chip for the vault, and then need to get to mariposa to kill all the heckin super mutants for being buttlords. Basically for the variety of builds I've done I've yet to be able to deal with the supermutants. The ones that have miniguns and shit all do like 150 damage per round and I can never withstand one. Are you supposed to do one of the few ways to get power armor to be able to effectively fight them or am I just doing something terribly wrong each playthrough? And as soon as I see them I dont even dare assume that dogmeat is going to live through it. I thought I read you can wear robes to allow you to freely roam mariposa but it didn't work. Maybe because I killed all the guards out front.

Otherwise I think the only way I'll ever be able to actually beat the game is to use a 10 charisma character to talk through it. I dont think Combat Armor is going to be enough to protect me. I'm on an unarmed character atm, do I need to roll a energy weapon character to be able to have the absurd damage to kill them with their own weapons? Stuff like the plasma rifle is the only thing I've gotten my hands on before that was potent enough to let me kill them effectively.

The only thing I can stand is the core module (plus maybe the equipment module, though it does weird things to a few enemies in the game) but everyone swears it is the greatest thing ever created. The sprinting is nice, slow motion is basically cheating though.

I usually run a crit build which runs better with VATS. VATS with melee attacks is a bit silly, as you instantly close the distance between you and the target even if obstacles are in the way. Try punching someone behind a counter and you will teleport behind them to donkey punch their head off.
