Yeah I shouldn't have expected you to get what's actually going on without doing the fight on GH yourself. There's a lot of small stuff he's managing/dodges he's timing to prevent himself from getting one shot. Such as:

>Dodging melee attacks while angling yourself to not get shot by either bogey in the middle of it.

I think you are confusing a lot of shit and particle effects happening at once on screen with actual fast gameplay that requires constant split second reactions and judgment from the players. The enemies in NG are very aggressive, dangerous and they have actual movesets, something that is completely lost to today's action games. Because of that fighting them is very engaging, which means it's very fun. It's not slow, but it is methodical, opponents are actually opponents.

Movement in these games is extremely fluid and so is the way characters interact with the environment, because of that it makes traversing said environment feel naturally rewarding and things like running along walls, up walls, wall jumping, flipping, rolling, using enemies as stepping stones, things that in almost all other games would have been assigned to some sort of special ability or command, happen so naturally that it makes you feel like the character you are playing. It's just very cool

Speaking of cool, in my opinion these games have simply the best animation i have ever seen. Movements are fluid, weapons have great momentum, flashy and complex animations, perfect use of speed and holdings to emphasize hits, great feedback from hit enemies.

I don't want to go full autismo defender like that one guy in this thread but why the hell would a game that already has more depth in its mechanics than any other singleplayer TPS need retarded unlocks and customization? Having "RPG elements" doesn't make a game more fun to play.
