Pretty sure you have brain problems.

The point of a speed run is to beat the game as fast as possible on official hardware/software.
If the devs coded the game so you could clip through a wall, and if this is faster than not doing it, then yes a speed run is going to fucking do that.

Next time look up a glitchless category, or one with some other arbitrary restrictions, if the real thing triggers your autism too much.
>>
you know glitchless speedruns are a thing right
>>
>>378100178
There's multiple categories for individual games that include or disallow such glitching as part of the runs. Bitching that people do glitch runs is as stupid as complaining about people racing in cars instead of on foot. Entirely different race categories.
>>
>>378099037
I do this. Not with GDQ though, too much autism and gamer grils and Le donations

I just stick GTA speed runs on. Good or no commentary and good music

In that case, most instances of skipping loading zones/screens and frame/animation cancelling should be considered cheating. Sidestepping to move fast in OoT should be banned because the devs didn't intend for you to move around the map like that.
>>
>>378104549

>cheat at sports
>it's ok guys you don't know anything about sports
>>
>>378104735
If someone uses a particular trick that's well within the rules of that sport but gives that team the advantage then it's not cheating. Stop using metaphors when you haven't even explained your original point. How is it "cheating" to use glitches? Speedruns that use glitches are in their own categories, it's not cheating if runs without glitches aren't compared to runs with them. You fucking idiot.
>>
>I dont watch speedruns, I don't speedrun myself, I have no idea what speedrunning even is

>>
>>378104735
video games are only bound by the laws within the the game itself
if the game allows you to glitch through a wall due to a bug in the engine, misaligned geometry, whatever, that's fair game because the game allows you to do it
if you use an action replay to teleport to the end of the game, that's cheating
if you think that using glitches or exploits is cheating, you're retarded.
if you compare video game laws to rulesets in a sport, you're double retarded

I hate youtubers and twitch and everything like that.

For some reason I absolutely love speedruns and GDQ in particular and have been watching it for 5 years together with /v/ now. But I never watch speedruns outside of this window.

I bet most of /v/ is like me.
>>

Fact: If out-of-bounds is allowed, then so are ingame cheats. Therefore, I can speedrun Morrowind by giving myself godmode and noclip and /v/ isn't allowed to criticize me.

Like with the rest of /v/ it's pretty easy to spot the age of the poster just by the wording+phrases+images used. If you ignore obvious meme and spam shit you notice people actually discussing stuff or the funny moments when something happens like the jak&daxter.

I don't laugh a lot but /v/ manages to genuinely make me cry with laughter during GDQ. It's an even better event than E3 due to this.
>>

I really dislike speedruns that rely on skipping most of the content with glitches. Some glitches are fine but not when the whole run consists of abusing them.

I do quite like runs where the gameplay is just honed to near perfection and every action is optimized without completely breaking the intended rules of the game. That's why I like to watch shit like Fable or glitchless Pokemon where I get to see games I've played finished in far less time than I would've thought possible.
