I will admit it's not everyone's cup of tea, but for those who enjoy the type of game it's ridiculously perfect.

Not a single indie/early access game has been better handled than Factorio.
The developers actually know what a real development cycle should look like.
They put an immense value on the opinions and suggestions of their community, but they know and play the game well enough to know what will and wont work in terms of gameplay.
They put a significant amount of effort into fixing bugs, making sure they can hardly find any more before releasing an update for public beta, and then moving it to a stable release before they even begin working on the next content update.

And despite being "unfinished" the gameplay is fully realized and can continue to keep you engaged for many hours. The only thing really missing is an ultimate goal, but even then you still have a direction to go in and fun is all about the journey, isn't it?
