They'll have to show off a whole range of new IP's and also PS features to win. Right now they're being stomped by MS and Nintendo when it comes to things which can build the hype level. MS has their new powerful console and a bunch of first party to go with it (according to Phil Spencer) and also their new Xbox game pass which is by far the best offering of any platform right now and then finally their whole oculus/vr deal. Nintendo has a lot of hype pre E3 and their console is current outselling even the ps4 in initial sales and monthly NPD. They'll show off a bunch of first party as usual but they'll also show off third party from Ubisoft and Bethesda which is what will make many people even more interested because of that availability of 3rd party for once.

They're going to be fighting on two fronts and I honestly think they're not going to be able to do anything to win e3 unless MS and Nintendo flop epicly.

Demos aren't good for business anymore, streams exist, videos exist. you can avoid having to separate a build to give out to people and just send a streamer or youtube video maker a copy of a game, and they'll slurp your cock without having to pay off CBS or 'journalists'. Same with twitch. Fallout 4 was the shining example for me. A few days before release, there were like 20 people playing the game on twitch, who'd all gotten the game early across a variety of systems from bethesda. That's what a demo is now. That's replaced demos.

One thing that's made their consumer base happy is fulfilling the promises that were made long ago but were never seen through, like FFXV, Shenmue 3, The Last Guardian. They should try to make DMC5, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Megaman Legends 3 and other long awaited titles either exclusives or tied exclusives.

They also need to figure out how to work backwards compatibility into their system as a sweeter deal than PS Now.

They should also try to get Bayonetta and Vanquish on their council.

Other than that they need to keep up the momentum. So far they've been a huge contributor of what's made 2017 pretty memorable. Just more of that.

Yeah, if it were to happen it'd probably be in the xenoblade type style which I hate, i'd rather see it stay dead. The DS game is good, but untranslated, and the translation team that was working on a patch mostly died. Like literally the members are dead. So it's probably never happening at this rate. But if you played the games on PS2 you can very likely work your way through it story-wise. Gameplay is pretty intuitive too.
