I could never go back to another single screen MH thanks to the 3DS and Wii U. You can access your menus quicker and safer mid-hunt with a second screen, there's less clutter on the main top screen, there has been nothing but benefits to a second screen thanks to how fucking convoluted and archaic MH game design is that it would virtually require two screens to enjoy, and especially moreso with X/XX because of hunter arts where even a New3DS with the extra buttons (as many on a switch) STILL needs to utilize the touch screen.

There is no situation where, discounting framerate improvement, the act of interfacing with the game is going to be easier than it was on 3DS.

XX fixes no problems with X, if not also doubling down on more traditional MH shit like getting away from the idea in X that all weapons could have end-game potential. The weapon ranking disparity is even worse in XX. You still can't visit villages while connected to online multiplayer, unlike 4U. There is no virtual D-PAD on the touchscreen for menu management, just like X, also unlike 4U. You can't move the Hunter Search bar from the top the bottom like you could in 4U, which was a problem in X - carried to XX. And nearly abandoning the concept of sub-species carries over from X to XX too, so the few monsters they add are just that - very very few, resulting in a near worthless content increase over X being comparatively content-less to 4U which is basically why anyone would have ever wanted an upgraded version of X in the first place, and there's still no HUD indicators for Hunter Arts or SNS-oils.

XX fixed absolutely no problems with X. I pirated it and still feel ripped off.

When you open a menu, your bottom screen is replaced with a quick menu of shitty buttons for the bottom screen layout customization.
