generation tried to add something new(arts)but in the end just broke what was left good. Everything else is literal rehash.
I play the game since the psp but i think the series has already said all it could. MH3 is the last one i really enjoyed(mh3 ultimate was the usual rehash but at least it was portable).

If you like games where you can sink hundreds of hours grinding through mostly self-imposed challenges to get cool weapons and armor against increasingly difficult boss-like monsters this should be fun. Even better if you have people to play with. If replaying missions and fetching items isn't your thing and the idea of playing with random players who are usually dipshits doesn't appeal to you, it might not be good.

Keep in mind it takes a bit to get used to the game. It's like riding a bike if the bike were to be used to fuck up a giant behemoth's face.

Don't be too excited, people. While it's good news for Monster Hunters on the Switch going forward, Gen and XX are extremely flawed.

Balance is fucked to all hell (arts and styles are all over the place), any semblance of tonal consistency it had left is thrown out the window, and the village stuff is a major step down from MH4U and even MH3U.

There's a handful of improvements, as there are with ANY Monster Hunter, but if you're going into it, go into it with the mindset that it's an "experiment game" and isn't going to be representative of the series going forward, and it'll probably disappoint you less.

I'll give you the quick run down on the most notable Guild Style buffs (that is, the style most likely to carry forward into MH5 eventually).

Yes, the Japanese already have XX on their 3DS, so they probably won't buy so much of it for the Switch, but these people aren't dumb, they can tell that it's only going to get even more Monster Hunter now. Something Sony cannot claim. Losing Monster Hunter was a monumental blow to Sony's Japanese gaming presence.
