>>378053826
>even comparing this to Mario 64
>>378053891
>>378053891
You can't because Mario 64 is a collectathon, not a platformer
i agree
inb4 butt blasted Mario64fags
>>378053993
>collectathon
There's really only one thing to collect, it doesn't qualify.
>>378053891
every Nintendo game is shit
they survive thanks to babies in their 20s buying their games for nostalgia
I thought Mario 64 was better but they were both great games
>>378054086
It can also collect dust in the shelf
>>378054098
>Crash Bandicoot
>edgy, shirtless goofball gets into wacky antics
Remind me which game was for kids again.
>>378054338
Nintendo is for age 8 tops
Crash is 15 or below
get your facts straight
I never really understood the comparisons between Crash and Mario 64. If anything, Crash is more a traditional, linear platformer like Donkey Kong Country. Nothing like Mario 64, which favored more open areas with an emphasis on exploration.
>>378054480
Wowee! Look at this hot little edgy mess!
>>378053990
>>378054456
Are you just posting pictures of reflections?
Mario had them too, not as fancy though.
>>378053826
SAGE, DESU~
>>378053891
>>378053998
>comparing what's not comparable
What's the best arcade racer, need for speed or mario kart ?
I like both CB2 and M64, one have linear levels of entire platforming, the other have fully opened 3D levels with various missions
>>378054632
You have to give Crash that it felt actually cartoony and expresive, Mario 64 has good graphics for the age but feels too stiff and artificial. Crash's animations were better.
>>378053826
I 100% agree.
Crash bandicoot trilogy is the best thing to ever exist in the whole world.
CTR and CB are fucking great games as well.
>>378054492
It was the original BotW vs Horizon.
>>378054713
no im just posting screenshots
I prefer Spyro 1 or 3
>>378053826
mario 64 is objectively better, but crash is still a good game.
>>378054456
>tfw reflections will be removed in the remaster
>>378054779
>CTR and CB are fucking great games as well.
they are better than the main crash games
>>378054876
>mario 64 is objectively better
do you understand what objectively means?
>>378054782
how? botw and horizon are both open world games
>>378054975
It all will be removed
>>378054492
>>378054738
Now that the dust as settled, what's the best game between Mario 64 and Spyro3?
I'll take the one that doubled Crash's sales. Crash was still good for a 15 minute sesh. Its a cute little linear game.
I'm replaying it right now
>it's a Road to Ruin level
>>378055282
Spyro 3
The epic nintendo ruseman squad will descend in 3, 2, 1...
>>378053826
Crash is furrfaggotry
>>378055283
>this level of passive aggression over a bandicoot game
>>378055079
do you?
Spyro is the better PS1 platformer. Crash is utter garbage.
And Mario 64 is better than both of them, but they're both far better than the trash that is Banjo-Kazooie.
Crash 1 - 7/10
Crash 2 - 9/10
Crash 3 - 8/10, would be 9/10 if it had 2's tight movement
Prove me wrong.
>>378055473
I do, SM64 is not objectively better than crash. There is no objective comparison to be made, your opinion on which is better is entirely subjective.
>>378053826
>>378053990
Does playing this with a widescreen hack cause you see to see grey voids on the edge of the screen?
>>378055043
You could say that about CTR but not for Bash. It's a great game but some of it's minigames were incredibly frustrating. Best times were the brawls, ball games, polar bear games and bosses
>>378055687
Crash 1 had levels like Road to Nowhere where difficulty was much higher, but the game gave you a lot of lives to compensate. These made the game much more interesting gameplaywise than 2 and 3. But also had this tedious bug for boxes collection. 3 is 50% gimmick levels.
For me :
Crash 1 : 8/10
Crash 2 : 9/10
Crash 3 : 7/10
>>378054456
>>378054975
>>378055184
>yfw his reflection in the remaster is his PSX model.
>>378056205
no
only on the side view levels
>>378053826
Couldn't agree more
>>378056643
Don't get me wrong, I really like Crash 1, I just find its controls horrible. Try going from playing 2 to 1, it's hellish.
>3 is 50% gimmick levels
Never really understood why people dislike them so much, the only ones I really disliked were the scuba ones. Coco levels were fucking rad. The time trials more than made up for any shortcomings 3 had anyway.
Games you wish you could erase from your memory so you can replay them again for the first time
>Crash Bandicoot
>Hall way platformer
>rigid digital movement
>3 feet of movement left/right
>simple moveset with no room for acrobatics
>the only thing the game asks from you is that you move forward and jump over holes/enemies
>literally the same as the diamond dozen 3D runners you can get on mobile for free
>>378057501
>literally wrong
>>378057184
Wish I could erase Sunshine from my purchase history
>>378057703

>>378054480
Even eternal darkness?
>>378054456
>tfw no aku aku reflection
>>378058000
Spirits don't need reflections.
>>378053891
>>378053891
I sincerely find mario 64 empty and not really interesting. Yes there's a lot of moves but that's all.
Maybe I need to be a ninten d r o n e to understand
>>378055765
you can stay deluded and subjective, sony nigger. that isn't how it works, you're creating a logical fallacy loop.
>>378058908
I agree with this.
always reminds me of those third rate platformers they would shit out to go with movies, mosters inc. scare island comes to mind
>>378053826
Crash has always been the weakest, shallowest excuse for a 3d platformer ever. Literally no depth and barely even 3d. Easy as fuck too. Fuck of sony children.
>>378053826
It's more like a planar platformer. Not what id call fully 3D.
>>378053826
>People praise Crash and complain about Mario Galaxy and 3D World being linear

you're either pretending to be retarded or genuinely are a gigantic imbecile.
In either case you just look retarded anon, stop posting.
>>378059508

>muh opinion is an objective fact
>"no it's not fuck off"
>haha! here is a screenshot of the definition, checkmate!!1!
>>378058950
Actual retard.
>>378058908
Mario 64 was a lot more iconic when it was released, there was simply nothing else that played like it at the time, and given what the average platformer was like back then, Mario 64 felt vast and unknown, and a major step for Mario as a whole
Playing it again as an adult when there have been a fuckton of other platformers that built-on it's framework reveals that the levels themselves feel kinda barren and flat, but as far as movement, trick jumps, and Mario's controls in general go, those have aged the best, and are still incredibly tight and responsive, mastering the long jump can trivialize a majority of the game
Here's a spicy take: in terms of level design and the setting itself, Sunshine clowns 64 completely
>>378053826
No, it was mediocre at best
Crash threads only ever started filling-up with blatant baitposting after the N.sane trilogy was announced
>>378056915
We got
>scuba levels (which some find neat and some bad)
>coco water levels (anyone who is against this is a fucking retard)
>coco running section ,which are pretty much the hog and polar levels but it wasn't as much as hard at all, way too easy to gem it, relic it and dodge it)
Then we got fucking airplane which i completely dislike even trought it's not done badly and the bike sessions.
They definitely tried to wide their approach on levels, maybe increasing a vartiation to keep the player interested. Coco levels are great as her boss but i didn't really enjoyed the bike and airplane fights as much as i wanted to.
>>378053826
maybe if you had a shit chilhood
>>378060641
That's my take trought, Super Mario 64 felt empty and had no consistency in the level design(in the aestetic department).
They even tried to make up for that in 3DS re-release but we are still talking about a pretty big open level gameplay on 3D, which very few tried and managed to do it right before SM64.
I can imagine Sunshine more good design, but i didn't played so i can't talk.
>>378053993
Because you're not collecting boxes and crystals and gems and wompa fruit in Crash? Shut the fuck up
>>378053891
Banjo was Mario 64 but good.
>>378053993
>>378063345
Neither are collectathons because you dont need to collect anything to finish the game. Stars in Mario serve the same function as the flags in Mario Bros. The only thing you need is a crystal in Crash and you literally cant miss it, might aswell not be in the game. The rest of the pickups are just fluff.
>>378055282
Mario 64. The Spyro games were greatGtG a best, but they really can't compare to M64.
>>378055282
Spyro and its not even close.
>>378057501
>rigid digital movement
If by that you mean incredibly responsive
>simple moveset with no room for acrobatics
he literally flips everywhere
>the only thing the game asks from you is that you move forward and jump over holes/enemies
no it's not
>literally the same as the diamond dozen 3D runners you can get on mobile for free
and Crash games are objectively better games
>>378054713
That wasn't a reflection. They just put in a second Mario to mirror everything you did.
It's more 2.5D than 3D.
Crash Bandicoot has certainly aged better as a result, though.
>>378060005
>Literally going "It's okay when Nintendo does it"
>>378053826
It's just nostalgia they're mediocre at best
>implying a 3D platformer can be enjoyed in a 32 bits system
Make way for the king, plebs
Wish I could get retroarch to properly scale the image. I got it at 8x internal, but it's stuck with all these black borders.
>actually trying to start a console war over this shit when BOTH games can be emulated right this very second
